calling out a specific user?

hewwo >-< i like to just “stalk” the propose projects to be featured studio and scroll through the comments/projects for good projects and i noticed a user calling out a curator for telling people that their accounts are possibly alts. this curator seems to have joined pretty early on and definitely seems to be an experienced curator in the studio. they are also extremely alert and are pretty serious when it comes to following the rules so that the added project follows all the restrictions, which is great. however, someone called them out for calling a lot of accounts possibly alt accounts. i checked a few that this curator called possible alts and to me they definitely seem to be alt accounts (like they're only following the creator or returned from months of inactivity to suggest a project shared a few minutes before their suggestion).

i just wanted to know if this “calling out” was against the community guidelines?

thanks! -@twiliight-

oh and just to be clear they said something along the lines of:
“i don't usually like to comment but this curator is accusing a lot of people of being an alt when they're not. blahblahblah.. i think that they should be removed from the studio and they don't deserve to be curator. this curator is @removedforprivacyandanti-gossipreasonslol.”

Hmm…

I help curate that studio. Sometimes it can be tough to determine if an account is an alt, and we have to make those tough comments explaining why we can't add the project. Sometimes it is possible that we are wrong, but we take the rule “you cannot propose your own projects” very seriously. This unfortunately makes it likely that some projects will not be considered, but the curator is just doing their job.

There are a lot of Scratchers who don't like the way that we do our job. Of course, we do simply that — we just do our job. If someone wants to comment about their dislike of the way things are going, they are welcome to do so as long as it is respectful. However, it sounds like this user is personally calling out a specific user. It sounds a lot like “naming and shaming”. Generally naming and shaming is bad practice, which is why for instance you wrote “@removedforprivacyandanti-gossipreasonslol.”

It might be worth reporting the comment and having the Scratch Team look at it. If you (or anyone else) has a complaint about a curator's actions, the best choice is to use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the website to explain it to the Scratch Team, and avoid publicly calling them out.

Naming and shaming, to my knowledge, is not inherently against the Community Guidelines, but it is frowned upon since it is a little disrespectful.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

Actually, I believe it goes against the Be Respectful in the community guidelines since it's kind of rude.
