A Guide to Successful Collaborating + Collaborating FAQ
So… People give advice on projects but don't actually help with the programming?

I still dont get how two or more users can work on one proj together
They can't. It's more like a choice of taking turns remixing and making changes or creating a simultaneous
compilation of remixes that get assets amalgamated together into a final project.
There is a kind of tool belt in Scratch that you can drag assets like code and art from one project and piece it into another.
That is a major help in Scratch collaborations.

im sorry that this reply is late XD but i think collaborating would be someone doing the art and someone doing the programming thats right isn't it? Is there any way to have people collaborate with a project of mine without remixing a lot
?

THEY DON'T GET ON THE PROJECT THEY JUST TAKE EACH OTHER'S STUFF FOR EXAMPLE IF SOMEONE IS MAKING AN ANIMATION ONE PERSON IS CODING AND ONE IS DOING ARTWORK (oops caps lock) and the guy coding takes the artwork from the other guy but how do they actually get on the project and help?

this is a good idea, but you could just share the project, post the link in the forum, the person will come and get your sprites and code, and he will post that he got it in the forum, then you go back to the project and unshare it. easy as that! Scratch realy should add an easier collab system. I know many Scratchers will be against this, but it would be so much easier, without ‘For EmeraldDaffodils’ projects or constant remixing, it could be a shared project shared with specific people and they can work on it separately then click a ‘submit’ button which will add it to the actual project.
Plus it will notify you when a change by another Scratcher has been submitted to the project. Gonna post this on ‘Suggestions’
better late then never to say that, right?

Scratch Animation: I'm looking for collaborators
I'm looking for collaborators, for my new animation called “Starry Night Sky”. I'm also still thinking on what it's about. I'll probaly make some art (some art, not all), maybe my partneir can do some coding and together we can make what it is about and what the notes and credits would say. As always, I will be respectful of my partneir's options.

If someone would want to collab with me for a platformer/interactive game, that would be good! And also, how many people need to be in a collaboration?

Yes, you go to “file” once in the project codes. You can save it to you computer from there and reshare it as your own. Is there any way to have people collaborate with a project of mine without remixing a lot
?

I know this sounds crazy but I really wish there was a wae to have a “collaborate section” where you invite certain people to join and it shows your mouse and his mouse. The wae it updates would, hopefully, be kind of like messages, when you're in the messages section, you can't be notified whether or not you've received messages after you've entered the messages section, then, after you leave the messages section, you'll be able to see if you've received new messages, that's the way I think the progression would work, there are multiple tabs inside of the project, when you click yours, to reduce lag or glitches, his would freeze, however, he would still be able to progress in the part of the project he's doing, then you simply click his tab and it will then show anything that he's done.
Perhaps, as “owner” of the project, to get rid of trolling, you could save a “save ‘scratchername’s' progress” so that, if you don't see what you like, again, as owner, you could simply not save it…
I also think it would be cool if there was a sort of “live chat section” , to easily communicate with the person or people you're collaborating with…
I know it may be impossible to code, but I think that would be AMAZING for scratch 3.0, and something that would strongly reduce any hate and, possibly may attract new scratchers…
Sounds cool?

I love your idea, the scratch team has a bunch of forums that you can suggest stuff for scratch 3.0, and I think you should suggest that because that would be very useful to all the scratchers who make big projectsthis is a good idea, but you could just share the project, post the link in the forum, the person will come and get your sprites and code, and he will post that he got it in the forum, then you go back to the project and unshare it. easy as that!
