I am going to provide my own interperatation of the laws regarding absence, and make a recommendation on what they should be changed to to improve clarity.

This interperatation is based on the way absence from school used to be handled in the UK (it has changed now). For those who don't know, British education is fully state-funded and compulsory for ages 5-18.
Previously, if you wanted to go on holiday during a school term, you had to fill in a form detailing why and for how long you would be absent. Then, you would not be fined for absence (subject to approval); this was called “authorised absence”. However, if you neglected to fill in the form, but went on holiday anyway, you would be fined a set amount per day until you returned to school; called “unauthorised absence”.

Applying this to the SPA, this is how I think it should work:

1. Users who are going to be inactive must notify SPA leadership before their inactivity.
   
2. In the event of an activity check, all users who have not notified of activity are subject to the normal system, meaning that they must reply within 3 days and can be fired if they do not respond within a month.
   
3. Users who have notifed of inactivity must respond to activity checks within 3 days of their notified inactivity ending, and if they do not respond within a month of their notified inactivity ending, they can be fired.
   

Accordingly, this is what I would recommend updating the laws to:

2.5: If you know that you will be inactive, you must notify SPA leadership of why and for how long you will be absent.Your inactivity is then classed as authorised.
2.6: You must respond to activity checks within 3 days, unless the activity check occurs during a period of authorised inactivity for you, in which case you must respond a maximum of 3 days after your authorised inactivity
2.6.1: If you don’t respond within this time you will be notified on your profile
2.6.2: If you don’t respond within a month of the check - or in the case of authorised activity, a maximum of a month after the end of your authorised activity - your position will be declared vacant.

Curator posts need to be approved before they are shown publicly.Please note that you have to be promoted from a normal user to a curator by a moderator or admin. Just ask on their Scratch Profile.
  
• Trusted Curator - These users can approve posts to be released to the network and can also submit a “Priority Report” which sends me an email instead of a report going to a moderator. Note that anybody logged in can report a post.
  
• Moderator - These users can edit, delete and modify posts. They can also promote and demote users.
  
• Admin - These users can ban users and have full control of moderation.

Anyways, while python_megapixel’s point of view is pretty good there’s a little hole here. We must vote that change into law first, which just means more days without a Head of Shops. I think we should start the vote as soon as possible.
