I'm building my own raspberry pi and learning how to code on there.

So this is my 100th post on the forums! Don't worry, i'm not leaving scratch. In fact i'm using it on the computer i have built myself! so i got a KANO computer kit for Christmas. It comes looking a little like a lego set, with simple and easy instructions to follow. It comes with a raspberry pi and you get to learn how to build a very simple computer which has internet and allows you to do so many amazing things! You can also Build your own screen if you aren't allowed to use your own TV. In order to make the computer work, you need to plug it into to ANYTHING with HDMI. And i also learnt that a computer isn't just a keyboard and a screen, its a very small raspberry pi with loads of switches on, and a speaker attached to it. The screen is just a tablet. if you get the ability to be a master programmer and machine building person. You could make SO many cool things. such as making LED lights with the pixel kit and wave hello to make the sun rise! you also get badges for achieving things along the way. Teaching you everything about computers.
I suggest you should try building your own computer and making things using code on there, it is so much fun to tell a computer to do professional art and music. You get to learn how to make Minecraft even cooler! and it automatically comes with the scratch offline editors too! you can share your creation with the world to see, and that's all i have for now. Have fun scratching!

18-2-18 I got a pixel kit, so I made my own LED board as well.

I might make a new topic because there are more haters arguing about why it's bad and not focusing on the CODING bit of it than people actually talking about it.

The term “white elephant” refers to an extravagant but burdensome gift which cannot be easily disposed of, supposedly after the King of Siam gifted rare albino elephants to courtiers who had displeased him, that they might be ruined by the animals' upkeep costs.

From the “Rock City” it is said that seven U.S. states can be seen: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.

Eros (/ˈɪərɒs/ or US /ˈɛrɒs/; Greek: Ἔρως, “Desire”), in Greek mythology, was the Greek god of love. His Roman counterpart was Cupid (“desire”). Some myths make him a primordial god, while in other myths, he is the son of Aphrodite.

But Abraham Lincoln was the only president to receive a patent himself. Congressman Lincoln received Patent #6469 for “A Device for Buoying Vessels Over Shoals” on May 22, 1849.

The human foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons. The 52 bones in your feet make up about 25 percent of all the bones in your body.

Two names, Earth-Star and Starlight, referred to the Station's likely bright star-like appearance in the skies of Earth, while another, Skybase, was said to build on “the tradition of Skylab,” the first U.S. space station, which had reached orbit in 1973.

Is it a kano computer? If it is then you need to find the long red usb at the back of the keyboard. You then have to put it into the red plug thingy (i forgotten what it was called) and then you have to wait 4 hours for it to fully recharge.

I've had a look in to these, overpriced raspberry pi kit. Just buy a raspberry pi kit and learn like that.
Also, you're not building your own computer, you're putting a raspberry pi in to a case, you don't learn a single thing about how computers actually work and that is a very bad thing considering this advertises itself as a build your own computer kit.

I'm not trying to be negative but the one i got came with a screen kit off ebay. so it was cheaper than the original.
And can you tell me why it doesn't teach me how to build a computer? i know the coding bit isn't very well done, but whats wrong with building the computer itself?

I wouldn't call it building a computer, I'd just call it ‘putting a case and speakers on a Raspberry Pi then connecting it to a screen’. No offence.

Well, then perhaps you should start one, if that's what you are looking for. Please don't put down other people's interests just because they don't line up with yours.

i am trying to write my own experience with building this computer, instead of being negative and saying you don't like it, just go away. I got it cheaper off ebay as well. For those who are complaining about this. I already have a 2nd raspberry pi kit. Which i had for 2 years! The kano computer i have only had for 1 month. Although i havent built the 2nd one, and i dont know why.
Cool! I kind of want a kit

I think you should buy one off ebay, because if you get it brand new it is quite expensive!
