That would be useful too, as I could unfollow them and ask them why they did it, as it’s extremely unfair on the person who got followed in the first place.

This would definitely help me when I'm busy making a project, just to find out that the messages was, “there was new activity in Studio today” and find out that the “activity” was someone just adding a period to the end of a sentence. While with this suggestion, I would actually get notified for important things.

Not exactly, because you still get notifications for things you don't care about, while in this suggestion you still get the messages, but you only get notified for the messages you want.
