if your current PC has Sufficent specs, I don't see why you cant set up a vive on it (unless of course the shape of the room you are in wouldn't work)

btw, the ceo of oculus supports trump, so I would stay away from oculus at ALL COSTS

OPINION INCOMING

okay virtual reality is a fad and used as a cheap marketing strategy, it's like 4k

(one youtuber by the name of crowbcat made a video about this topic called virtual reality is not so great so you can watch that after reading this post)

its super expensive, the oculus is 600 dollars and the vive is 800

not to mention you have to have a pretty big room to play it in

not to mention you need a really good pc to handle it (i mean i already have one so thats not a problem)

and most VR games are unfinished or indie games (charging full price) with like nothing

i kinda agree with most of that, but most vive games on steam are max $40, most triple-a games are $60, so i wouldn't call $40 full price

also, it may still be in it's early stages, and become cheaper, more convenient, and take less resources, but it's because it's an awesome experience, you get to experience amazing games (i got it during a sale combo thing where you get 2 games that are normally like $40 each, for free with the vive)
AND most people have only experienced it once at a demo (e.g SVCC 2016)

so, you'd be paying around $2000 for something that will 1: last you probably atleast a few years, 2: the PC will have so much more gaming potential if you've upgraded from a bad pc, 3: it's an awesome experience (can confirm) and 4: the vive box is awesome

i guess a few cons are 1: not very far developed games (though the ones that are, are extremely good e.g the gallery call of the starseed) 2: Expensive
and 3: the feeling you will pass through objects after playing a decent session (e.g 40 min - 1 hour)

ok so
1 not “full price” but still thats expensive for some game where you walk around and point virtual guns, (not even walk, teleport!)

2 something for 2000 dollars? woah! it just got more expensive!
you do realize there are budget pc builds?
last me a few years yeah, until a new fad comes, i really didnt say anything about upgrading pcs so okay, awesome experience im sure it is but not a lot of people can do it, opinion

last me a few years yeah, until a new fad comes, i really didnt say anything about upgrading pcs so okay, awesome experience im sure it is but not a lot of people can do it, opinion

1: the games are much more saturated with story, gameplay and misc things

2: this is a product in it's early stages, of course it's gonna cost a lot of money
by $2000 i mean it includes a vive, a decent pc, and maybe some other equipment if you don't have it (e.g quality keyboard, mouse, headset which all combined can cost around $500)
so the budget for the vive would be $800, the budget for the pc would be $900-$1600 and the budget for the periphials would be around $200-$500
