They just provide links to other programming websites. Many people like Angry Birds and Flappy Bird, so showing how to make games like those is a good way to attract people to the site.

They are in charge of Hour of Code— they made Scratch popular this December I noticed they use blocks and they also copy off of popular games like Angry Birds and Flappy Bird.

No. There are multiple block programming languages. Scratch isn't the only one.

Code.org uses Google Blockly. It is similar to Scratch but I would not call it a direct copy. MIT Android app inventor also uses the framework.
