Scratch 3.0

I prefer the Stage on the right. It's like reading a book, when you open it up your eyes start on the left side of the page. Likewise, when I read my scripts I like them on the left then the Stage on the right. Really it's just personal preference, but I'm happy they are going back to the old style.

No. I started in 2.0, and this is just unfair to people who have only used 2.0 like me. A better solution would be an option to have the stage be on the left like in 2.0 or the right like in 1.4.
and the ST should make up their minds on which side the stage always will be on by default
How is it unfair… also learn to adapt.
Yeah “unfair” really seems like the wrong word here. And why should people who started with 2.0 be prioritized over us who started in 1.x?
I don't want anyone prioritized.

I used to make stuff on here, now i just come on when i'm bored, don't expect anything from me now.

Yet by choosing which side the stage should be on at least someone would get prioritised.

Rather silly solutions to that:
  • put stage in the middle
  • make it an option and then randomly choose between the two per user
  • use a layout optimised for portrait-oriented phones so that everything is stacked vertically

This is my signature. It appears below all my posts. Discuss it on my profile, not the forums. Here's how to make your own.

Would not do. Scripts area would not be wide enough with the stage in the middle. It'd be a very poor design.

I'm imagining a tiny block palette in the top left and the blocks start in the left and once they get long enough, the bottom part moves to the top of the right.
Anyway, stage shmage. 1.x users got used to 2.0, and we'll get used to 3.0.

Wouldn't it be better to keep it on the left, though? Sure, 1.x users had to get used to 2.0, but technically, they should now be used to it. Instead of making 2.0 users have to do the same thing, they could keep it on the left as 2.0 users are used to it, and 1.x users are now used to it. No problems there.

I don't care which side it's on (I've used both), but they need to pick one and stick with it.

Hey everyone,

FYI we changed the way new changes are published to https://llk.github.io/scratch-gui/. That URL will always show the last “stable” build of 3.0, and will only change every few weeks.

If you want to see the most up to date build, which sometimes changes multiple times a day (and which will possibly be broken!) watch https://llk.github.io/scratch-gui/develop/.

Scratch on!

I just noticed that, when using Microsoft Edge, deleting a costume brings up a pop-up that reads "Would you like to delete this sprite?“ Shouldn't it say ”costume" instead?

If y'all haven't seen, the ST just announced their partnership with Google to build Scratch Blocks, which according to the official announcement is going to be the framework for Scratch 3.0. There's also a bunch of other cool new things mentioned in the announcement as well.

Do you think everyone will move to the new Scratch? I like this one a lot.

It also happens when you want to delete a sound. A popup appears and it says: Would you like to delete this sprite? It should say: Would you like to delete this sound?

I noted that in the bug report “ALL asset-delete buttons show ”delete this sprite?“ dialog”
