New Drawing Feature in the SVE/SBE

Howdy!

One problem I frequently run into when I'm creating a sprite or drawing on Scratch is that there is no way to turn a sprite on its side. I think a button could be implemented to make this super easy and simple to do. I can't tell you how many times I've needed to do this, so it would make things so much easier if it was added. If you don't understand what I mean, here's a visual.

If you want to know where the button would be located, I think it could be placed right next to the flip buttons, like this.

And here is a draft design of what it could look like.

Another tool related to this that could be added that is that objects could snap to 15-degree angles when rotating while holding shift. This would be immensely useful and would be used for loads of purposes.

Yeah, I'm trying to make a design right now.

This would be awesome, I can't think of any negatives to having a rotate button. I imagine it'd be used a lot, I certainly would make good use of it.

Thank you.

Also, I've added a draft design of the button if anyone wants to look.

I like the draft, it matches the others well.

Support. This existed in 1.4, so I don't know why they would remove it. There is also the option to rotate with the select tool, so it would be easy for them to let it snap to 90° angles.

And rotating by 90 degrees is a nice and handy feature.

Oh, awesome. Most art programs have something similar.

Maybe instead of having a button, it should snap to 90 degree angles when rotating while holding shift.
I still like this idea; I have no idea why this isn't added.

if it's gonna be added, make it snap to every 15 degrees. it's easy enough to get the right angle while holding shift and rotating. source: inkscape

Why hasn't this been thought up before?
I support, this is an amazing idea. Usually, I'll be rotating something, but then I just don't get a flat angle. This would help immensely with getting the correct angles, ESPECIALLY if it snaps to every 15 degrees.

My Reply
I think that instead of having a button to turn 90 degrees, there could be some thing to make turning more exact, like you could hold shift when turning and the area selected would turn to an easy number. Maybe if you held shift it would be able to turn to only 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, and so on, but if you did not hold shift while turning it would just turn exactly toward your mouse as usual. I know I worded it in a weird way that might be confusing.

I've already included a section in the OP about that.
