I really like this idea. It would also be nice to know when the scratcher updates the projects. I also agree that you should be able to choose which notifications you want to get, that would be nice and it wouldn't fill up your messages then. I also feel like it's almost like following a forum discussion. That being said, it's a really good idea!

Please consider GIVING CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM to my suggestion about adding a “Shops” section to the forums!

The owner of the project should be able to follow / unfollow their own projects too, just like forum posts.

Also, you should have options for which notifications you will receive. For example:

Loves On
Faves Off
Remixes On
