Autodesk SketchBook Users Unite!

I am a proud SketchBook Pro user!

SketchBook Pro has basically changed my art from this to this. I used to use TuxPaint, a free drawing program for younger kids, but then I switched over to Autodesk Sketchbook.

The main purpose for this topic is for all of us Sketchbook users to get together and talk about the program and give each other tips for the future.
although I doubt this will get any attention…

Anyways, feel free to post anything below! I will add any tips and tricks to the gallery bellow!

The gallery

Here's my excellent shading technique:

1. First, draw your lineart.
2. Then, add color on a second layer behind your lineart.
3. Make a new layer, and with your black airbrush, find the darkest parts of the picture.
4. Repeat step three using lighter and lighter colors, until you get to white.
5. Lower the opacity of your layers to your liking.

Adding a great lighting effect to your drawing/painting:

I have a custom brush that I use mainly for color palletes, but I sometimes use it for other things, too. It's a round brush with high spacing.
1. Make a new layer.
2. Add small white dots to where you would like the lighting would like to be.
3. Blur everything. The strength of the brush should be around 20.
4. Enjoy! This works really well with the mini shading tutorial above.

I have the tablet version, but it's really hard for me to do anything because I can't rest my hand on the screen so it's really awkward. Any tips?

Unfortunately, I have the same problem too.
Have you tried the desktop edition? That's part of the reason why I have it instead of the tablet version.

Do you know if it's available for Ubuntu?

I've never heard of Ubuntu, sorry.
