Techno Worldwide

I created a website called Techno Worldwide for an HTML class. Its purpose is to be a general techno music reference website. It is not quite complete yet, but you can see it so far here.

Looks good! I think the site seems a bit wide, though, because I have a big monitor. Might I suggest giving it a max width?

Which you would do with something like this, if you want to:

#wrapper {max-width: 960px; margin: 0 auto;}

The deadmau5 page has a spare linebreak after “All of his techno” which should probably be at the beginning of that sentence?
Also links change color dramatically when :visited and :hover. You might want to pick subtler colors

website also needs more sandburgen and olondro

I doubt that deadmau5 is techno, his Play Records releases are more tech house.

However, have you included Boys Noize or Alesia?

Boys Noize definitely produces techno. And if you want to hear some Deadmau5 techno, listen to his tracks Templar, Bounce, and Subvert. They're definitely techno. I don't think that Alesia counts, though.

Yeah, my pet peeve is when people refer to every electronic genre as “dubstep” (but I'm not too good at genres myself).

EDIT: Techno sounds a lot like trance to me.

I guess tech house is really techno (the clue is in the name).

I guess tech house is really techno (the clue is in the name).

There is a difference, the main thing being the beat. Techno beats are generally more experimental, while retaining the 4x4 kick, whereas tech house pretty much always has a standard house beat. Examples:

Sorry, I'm not too good at genres, as I said earlier. What genre would you say it is?

I'd say it's a progressive breakbeat track. And no worries about the genre thing. I would think that it was techno too if I hadn't stumbled upon Adam Beyer's Drumcode podcast.

Edit: Almost everyone in the United States would call that techno… that's why I'm trying to bring true techno back to the U.S.

That's dubstep/moombahcore, I'm pretty sure. But I love their music, especially So What and Self Destruct. 20K and Razor Sharp are also great.

Thanks! Where I live, at least, everyone calls every electronic song dubstep, which really annoys me
