Estimated 2.0 final release date...

Does anyone have an estimated date for the final release of the Scratch 2.0 (approximation), including the standalone edition?

The reason I am asking is because I am creating a small USB to physical software (physical computing) device I want to make it work with Scratch, as the following experiment shows, it is relative easy to do using the version 1.4:

The question is that the current “2.0” does not implement the same mechanism to external connection (other language interaction), so I like to know if there any kind of estimated date planned… any approximation will be ok…

Thanks all,
Valter

See the thread about extensions in 2.0. The protocol is very different; you'll probably have to rewrite your interface software.

You can get the offline version of Scratch 2.0 here:

Hi, thanks to blob8108 I was able to find 2 working samples, and now I just want to report that I have tested both with success!

blob8108,
I am working on the PC I/O device right now, (https://sites.google.com/site/scratchfisico/home), my goal is to have the
SIMPLEST
CHEAPEST
SMALLEST
EASIEST
device possible to connect stuff like Scratch to the physical world…

Because the scope is small, I believe it can be done without much trouble…
Also, I am hoping to have it ABLE TO BE HAND MADE, without the need of any special tool…
I am listing the ones I am creating here: https://sites.google.com/site/fattoamanoen/

Thanks a lot for the help,
Valter
