How do you make good platformers?

Platformers are like any other project. They take hard work, patience, functionality, and good art. If you're having problems with the art part, you can usually ask for someone else to draw you some art (remember to give credit) in the Requests forum. The more programming you do, the better you become. Keep practicing! A great way to learn is to look inside what you consider a “good” platformer and see how it is programmed. Base your platformers off that.

I make many advanced platformers but as you can see my computer is not working well so I can't show you the proper script of a advanced platformer. the post that I showed was not the correct script because my computer is not working its putting the wrong scripts. You could go to my profile and check out some of the advanced platformers then click see inside and use some of my scripts. Check out some of my brothers platformers his username is sparkygh I am following him. Goodbye and I hope you make a good platformer

I need some help with platforming. The one thing I want to know is how to collide with a wall. This is what I know: The player always falls to go down. If the player touches blue, (my platform color for example) he'll go up, but if he runs into the left/right side of a wall, he'll go up, too. I need help on how to collide with walls; I have absolutely NO idea how.

You'll want to know basic programming skills, like motion blocks and control loops/blocks. The more you know about them, the better. Or, if you don't want to go to all that trouble, there's a tutorial by @djpro. Remember to give credit, btw!

I found this VERY helpful for making Xv-Yv platformers (the good kind): Platformer Tutorial v0.12 by griffpatch_tutor.

I suggest searching a tutorial on how to make one and watching that. The way I got better at scripting was through watching Youtube videos.
