Standard Management - Lesson Five - Inactivity
This is the very last lesson of Standard Management. After this, there is only a few more assignments and then you can graduate. :-)
A Fair Way to Get Leave
Members need time off from their collaboration. Maybe there are going on holiday, have exams, busy with homework, another scratch project or just need a break. You need to make sure that you have some way for organising this ‘leave’ to ensure that you are not giving assignments to people on leave. You may decided to organise it informally so that members just say how long there will be away for. However, you may settle on a more informal way such as a leave form (see below) or maybe members can only be inactive for a certain amount of time a month. Either way, you should have somewhere that you make a note of everyone who is on leave to avoid confusion. Always be considerate to people when giving leave. When you take leave yourself, remember to delegate your role to another person. It may be obvious (there is already a deputy or your position) or you may have to appoint someone as temporarily to act on your behalf.
Taking Note of Inactivity
When taking note of who is inactive and who is not, remember that it is unfair to mark someone as inactive if they don't have an assignment to be getting on with. You should mark someone as inactive if they haven't responded to an all call or haven't completed an assignment by its deadline. If they have clearly been trying to work on the assignment then you should not mark them as inactive, maybe just ask them if they need more help. Always check to see if a potential inactive person is on leave.
Action
What you do really depends on what you can do. Maybe you have fully power to dismiss members from the collaboration, can only warn members about inactivity or can only inform the chief. Here are some steps below:

2. Comment on their profile nicely.
3. Tell your chief
4. Make a official warning

-How to raise a collaborations's awareness (adverts in newspapers, telling friends, partnering collaborations).
-Inactivity

-Successfully breaking a task into pieces and delegating them between fictitious workers.
-You have been put in charge of hiring temporarily while the leader is away. You are faced with five possible candidates for different jobs.
-Organise the first post as it has become outdated based on some instructions. It's chaos!
-Questionnaire
-One scenario of inactive members.

BTW. After this course, I am interested in joining the next level of Customer Service. (It's called Advanced, right?)
