Oh, yeah, that's exactly it!

For me, a lot of unfairness is video games comes from the fact that the game itself is just unbalanced.

1: Quick time events.
2: Platforms that are placed in a way that makes you think it's a dead end.

1-hit-kill moves in Pokemon, for example, fissure.

This goes in Reading and Playing, doesn't it?

In Mario Kart, when you almost cross the finish line in 1st on the final lap and BAM! BLUE SHELL.

When you forget to save for a while and end up losing a lot of progress.
