He's just a lot different. You never know though, he may turn out awesome. Something tells me he's just a filler doctor who will be gone in a season or a two. Probably when Clara leaves, he'll go too.

@pizza4breakfast , I never watched it. I only just heard about it through a Doctor Who quiz. It said that Torchwood started out as a project to stop people from pirating Doctor Who and that's why it's an anagram of Doctor Who.

How is he different? And why do you think that he's a filler Doctor? Just because he's old or something? He's only 56 if that's why.

He acts a lot older, and he's the first doctor (of the new version at least) that's been in anything significant before. In other words, he's the only doctor you would ever go, “hey I know who that is” when they announced it. As for the age Matt Smith was the Doctor when he was 26 and David Tennant when he was 34. This means that the last two doctors before Capaldi (not including the War Doctor) were 30. That's a 26 year gap. In my opinion that is a HUGE gap. He's more than twice the age of Smith. But, still, I guess I shouldn't judge him before there's even a real trailer with him.
