I'd like it if games had a level editor unlocked only if you beat the game, or collected every collectible in the game, but I wouldn't like it if the game exaggerated. I think Nintendo already dismissed the idea of a level editor - they'd rather focus on making really good preset tracks. It's understandable, as the courses show just how tricky a comprehensive level editor would be. And three stars on every course is just IMPOSSIBLE. Okay, maybe not, but on Mario Kart 7 I am struggling to get even two stars on 150cc and mirror. Anyway, it goes against Nintendo's view, because younger players would be annoyed that they can't make their own tracks, and an editor that hard to get at would probably be very lacking as Nintendo wouldn't want to make something really good that only > ~10% could get at.

Also, I made a Scratch tournament! Yay! Adopted! *claps* Yay! DO YOU GET THE REFERENCE

I already have 3 stars on most grand prix in MK8 on 150cc and mirror. It's not that hard, you just have to have the MK experience throughout many years.

Luckily I heard that there is an option to make certain items unavailable in Mario Kart 8. I would definitely make the Blue Shell unavailable.

Playing Mario Kart 8. Sweet! My only complaint is that there is an OVERLOAD OF BABY CHARACTERS, AND LIGHTWEIGHTS.

Seriously.

Couldn't they bring back some older characters? No complaints otherwise.

in mk7, it is super easy to get 3 stars, but in mkds, you always get the stupid, unliked rank E.

I definitely want it. It looks like a great game to bring my Wii U back to life (it's been sitting there). I like the idea of getting a free game to go along with it too; it really makes it worth it.

Once I'm rolling in that dough, I'll have to pick it up.

I use Koopa with the yellow-pipe car, the very first basic wheels and the bowser glider. My largest point of advice in Mario Kart is to choose a car not always with great speed but good handling and traction and acceleration. A slow car with great turning will do better than a fat slow car with no acceleration. Also, if you get 10 coins you can get just as fast, so always go for coins.

Take sharp turns and don't assume the fastest car and tires are the best like everyone else. Handling and acceleration are important. I beat it with the slowest car. Also, use mushrooms wisely such as to take shortcuts or when going straight forward. Don't use them at a sharp turn and bump into the wall because it only makes things worse. And save bananas and shells for when someone throws a red shell at you.

I agree with you. I have a Mario Kart Wii disc in my Wii U right now, so I'm sacrificing DKC Tropical Freeze, the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time, to play Mario Kart Wii. That's how good it is. But, Mario Kart 8 definitely looks better than that. Now, even though Mario Kart 8 looks better, but Nintendo plans to sell around 3.6 million copies. That's nothing compared to Mario Kart Wii's total sales of OVER 30 MILLION COPIES!!! I highly doubt Mario Kart 8 will outsell Mario Kart Wii.

Let me give you some pointers. (This is coming from a guy who has a completely golden license in Mario Kart Wii, so you can trust me, even though I don't have Mario Kart 8.) When your drifting, If your vehicle has inside drifting, (explained in this video) then you might want to drift a little earlier than you normally would. That's how it was in Mario Kart Wii, even though it's a little different in Mario Kart 8. Also, Looking behind you on straight path is always a good thing to do, especially if you want to avoid green shells.

THREE stars? You can actually do that? I didn't even get one in 50cc. I just settled with 2. Jeeze.
