Mario Kart 8 by far will be one of the most exciting Mario Kart of all time. Even the retro courses are new becuase so much has changed with them, if someone wasn't excited about Mario Kart 8, I would tell them to see a doctor and fast .

The only thing is, they haven't learnt from their mistakes. Let's take Mario Kart 7, the charcter roaster is HORRIBLE. Who's idea was it for adding metal Mario and Queen Bee? Queen bee is a minor charcter and don't even get me started on Metal Mario. The official Mario Kart seven claims that Metal Mario is Mario's main enemy (casually throwing Bowser out the window). Waluigi and Bowser Jr. deserved a place in Mario Kart 7.

Now like a said, Mario Kart 8 is going to be a great (did I say great?), outstanding game though the charcter roaster is not as bad, but still a few flaws. The Koopalings was a nice touch but Pink Gold Peach?!? The name just doesn't work and wastes a perfect slot for a good character…

Anyway, too bad I got a SNES, GameCube and Mega Drive for my birthday instead of a a Wii U.
I still think Mario Kart 7's roster is slightly more horrible than 8's. Think of ALL the characters they could've used instead of a literal Peach clone in Mario Kart 8, though. Also, Queen Bee was stupid and I was actually OK with Metal Mario, though I would've preferred Shadow Mario.
I agree the character choices were not good. Why did they add like 4 bowser-type enemies from NSMB U? They should add blue Mario from Sunshine or even someone like Professor E. Gadd. But either way, for all we know there could be unseen characters (for example there was no visual of dry bowser and I'm sure he's in).

Aside from characters, 5-star graphics, maps, and online play I'd say.
There is no dry bowser, and there are 7 bowser type enemies, called the koopalings who debuted in super mario bros 3

I think it will be better than people think. It's definitely going to top Mario Kart Wii in every aspect, and that's saying a lot.
Really? I thought Mario Kart Wii was a massive disappointment, but maybe that's nostalgia goggles talking. It's hard to beat Double Dash for me; the controls felt so crisp and the variety from unique items and character combos gave the game so much flavor. I was sad that Nintendo ditched the mechanic in MKW.
MKwii wasn't THAT bad(applause, anyone?)
as long as it has dry bones, toad, koopa troopa, and yoshi, we're fine.

MKDD was good, but I find MK wii a lot better. I personally didn't care about the co-op thing, never appealed to me. I find that that mkwii added a lot more in terms of gameplay, such as the tracks, better drifting mechanics, and in my opinion, more fast-paced. A lot of people probably disagree with me since the game added overpowered bikes that rendered karts pointless. But that's just my opinion.

The way I think of it was DD had 12 maps Wii has 32, Wii has online play, Wii has more characters.

DD had 16 tracks, not 12. Did you really never unlock the Special cup? That was the best one! ^^

I think MKW didn't appeal to me because like other Nintendo sequels for the console, the controls didn't feel as precise to me. (I'm looking at you, Brawl.) I never felt quite as in control with the Wii (even on a GC controller) but maybe I just never took enough time to get used to it. I didn't care for the drifting change either.

I actually never used the two-player kart mechanic more than once or twice; I just liked that you could get creative with item combos by picking different characters. Removing unique items made character selection a lot less meaningful in my opinion. I don't care about character count much when they all feel the same.

Mario kart 8 seems WAAAY too much like Crash Nitro Kart. Seriously, it even has the sideway-tires thing when you go anti-gravity!
This could be a coincidence, but it might not.

MKwii does have bad controls, but not as bad as MK64. The n64 controller is very awkward, you can't choose karts, only 8 characters, only 16 tracks, and you can't even STEER in 150cc. But it was a mega leap in mario racing considering it was released in 1996.

I can't wait for it to come out. Theres the Koopalings added to the collection, and I'm just so so happy for it to come out. Here's the official website from Nintendo. <<Hopefully that adds a little hype to the release.

Can't wait. XD

But, it is coming out now in 18 days. Which is… doing the math… 2 weeks and 4 days from now.

What are you most excited about?

It's turning out to be like mariokart 7, but better. I like the wide character selection, as well as the shock horn item.

Add new collaboration models of Mercedes-Benz “GLA” appeared Wii U software released today in the “Mario Kart 8”. Summer of this year, is scheduled for delivery. Please wait for further news.
It's DLC for the summer.

MARIO KART 8 AND I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just picked it up, and it's probably my favorite Mario Kart.

The new tracks are really great (retro track selection isn't too bad either). Bikes are way more balanced than MKWii: they're still faster than karts, but they seem to have worse handling for the most part. Battle mode is different than before (it happens on the normal tracks instead of separate stages), but it's still pretty fun. My only problem is the character selection. Why the heck do we have seven Koopalings when we could have some of the characters from other games that are missing? And Pink Gold Peach? Really?

Uploading replays to Youtube is pretty nice, too. Here's some of my mad Yoshi skillz.
