Any escort mission. The one in the Fracture Hills world of Spyro 2 was incredibly frustrating: there was no indication of where the dude was going, and frequently he would change his mind and turn around when you weren't looking, getting smashed in the process. Not very fun.

Also the final boss battle has at least three parts, and if you fail on one you have to start the ENTIRE THING over again. Especially fun, because you only get 4 hits for the entire battle.

in hotline miami there's this guy that can only be killed with like shotguns and whatev and i always use machine guns so it's really frustrating

i have to find a way to run past him while he chases me and i look for a shotgun whenever he's on a level

Super Crate Box, when an enemy touches the fire. Rahman Origins, when I find out that I have to get record times and 99 percent of the lumps in every level to unlock the land of the dead. World of Goo, when the vacuum is two inches in front of you and you've run out of lums. Any Mario game when I get a game over and have to restart the whole stage. Badlands, when I get to day two. And, finally, when Zork doesn't recognize the word canyon, even when it tells me I can climb down into it.

Loopdeswoop Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy) I kept dying and getting 2 more lives on the next go It happened so much I had 99 lives when I beat it.

And the sequel's Beat Block Galaxy silver star mission. The first Star in that galaxy was easy enough to get but the Prankster Comet mission speeds up the flashing blocks. I haven't beat it yet.
