For a start

I'm sorry mate. I don't know why I do this kind of stuff, but I am sorry. It's just I want to have some sort of contact with others in a funny way while making my next game. It's going to take a long time, and I don't usually like to release things unfinished/good. I thought by releasing a parody project in my alt account and sending it over to one of my favorite scratchers, I could get a classic funny response. I was incorrect in my judgement and I am sorry. This whole thing happened in my Web Design class with my friends, and we were having a good time after I had finished with my web page for the day. Sorry for the incident. Hope we can both be mature about this. Thanks mate.

Your artistic level

“Use your mouse to draw stuff!”

Game Design 7/10
The game is addictive, fun, and simple. These are three great features for any game to have. Saying that, a timer to quicken the pace would have been a welcomed feature, as the game felt a little slow. Another thing to make this more exciting would be to include moving obstacles and enemies.

For the levels that I played, the entrance and the exit stayed in the same positions, meaning that there wasn't much variation in level design. I know that you can draw them yourself to make each level different, but as a lazy gamer I just drew the same path over and over again. This was an above average experience, and could have been improved with a faster pace and more varied levels.

Originality 6/10
It's a lot more original than the standard platform game, but it also bears great resemblance to many other level-drawers. This game would have benefited from an original character to control, rather than a gliding box. So it deserves points for being a unique platform game, but not maximum points because it is too similar to other games that fall into the draw-it category.

Ease Of Use 3/5
I was annoyed that you had to use WAD instead of the arrow keys, but that's just a personal preference. This would be a 5/5 if the tutorial was inside the project and not on the outside.

Difficulty Balance 3/5
The game would have easily scored a 5 because it's challenging but it's also easy to pick up at the start. On the contrary, whenever a new level starts, although the character is sent to the right place, it keeps moving at the same speed as I left it at the end of the last level. That meant that I wasted lots of lives just falling off of the edge of the starting point. This needs to be fixed. It's such a problem that it's worth -2 points.

Graphics 3/5
The box thing was smoothly animated, and there appeared to be very little lag even in fullscreen. However, I found that the levels were scruffy; so it all needs to be neatened up. Still, for a game of this type the graphics weren't too bad.

Sound 1/5
The game had a sound effect, so it deserves a point.

Firing Round 7/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)
Reliability 2/2
0 (Very Glitchy) 1 (A few glitches) 2 (Hardly any glitches)
Game Length 1/2
0 (Too Short) 1 (Descent Length) 2 (Long lasting or endless)
Game Pace 2/2
0 (Very slow or too long for it's own sake) 1 (Quite engrossing) 2 (Very well paced and fun)
Replay Value 1/2
0 (Would never replay/ did not want to finish it the first time) 1 (Might replay) 2 (Too good to stop!)
Programming 1/2
0 (Simple to make) 1 (Fairly advanced) 2 (It was very complex)

Overall Experience 30/50
This was a good experience, but not a great one. I'll admit that I had fun drawing the levels, but this game was lacking excitement and variety. All it needs is brighter graphics, a catchy tune, a timer, moving obstacles, and perhaps the odd boss battle to make this into a classic.

Hotel simulator beta 1.2

Game Design 3/10
When I saw this game in the Arcade studio, I thought I might like it, as I've played hotel/tycoon games before. In reality, this game wasn't very addicting, and I didn't find it fun. However, this game is in beta, so I'm hoping that there will be more updates to turn this around.
There is no strategy in this game. Usually, you buy something, and then you spend money on it to improve it, and get more money. In this game, you just wait 15-20 seconds to get $15-$20. There's no strategy in that.
If you could choose what you wanted to buy, e.g. restaurant, apartment, etc., then it would be YOUR hotel. It wouldn't be just pressing a button (and occasionally, the space bar).
Basically, this game was very repetitive, but with a few changes, this would be a significantly better game.

Originality 5/10
I've played hotel/tycoon games before, so I didn't find this game very original, but, I haven't seen games like this often, so I'll give you some points here.
As I said above, something to make this YOUR hotel, with strategy, and customize-ability, would make this more original.

Ease Of Use 1/5
There was a tiny bit of instruction outside of the game, so if I'd downloaded this or couldn't find the notes on the 2.0 website, I wouldn't know how to play this, because there weren't any inside the game. The buy button was partly covered by a variable (the cost???) so it took me minute to figure out what
it was, without any instructions.

Difficulty Balance 1/5
I don't think I can actually rate this, because this game doesn't have a “difficulty”, but if I have to, I'll say that this was very repetitive and easy game, but the UI (user interface) made this very difficult to use

Graphics 2/5
There was lots of stuff on the screen (dirtiness, strength, height???) and the graphics were very simplistic.

Sound 0/5
There was no sound in this game, and I think it needed some sort of repetitive jingle or sound effects.

Firing Round 2/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)
Reliability 0/2
0 (Very Glitchy) 1 (A few glitches) 2 (Hardly any glitches)
Game Length 2/2
0 (Too Short) 1 (Descent Length) 2 (Long lasting or endless)
Game Pace 0/2
0 (Very slow or too long for it's own sake) 1 (Quite engrossing) 2 (Very well paced and fun)
Replay Value 0/2
0 (Would never replay/ did not want to finish it the first time) 1 (Might replay) 2 (Too good to stop!)
Programming 1/2
0 (Simple to make) 1 (Fairly advanced) 2 (It was very complex)

Overall Experience 5/50
This game was basically:
when gf clicked
forever
press button
wait
end
However, as I said before, this game is in beta, so I hope there will be updates to turn this around.

TOTAL: 19/100

That was my first review, and if you think I was too harsh anywhere, or I did something wrong, you are welcome to tell me about your opinion.

I reviewed a game (above) and I added three of my games to the Arcade studio, so I think that gives me 13 points, with a total of 18 points.

**Maybe here you should talk about strategies. I reviewed a tycoon game called The Money Maker, you can steal some ideas from that if you don't know what to say. I just felt that with this being out of 10 points, there needs to be more detail.

Originality 5/10
I've played hotel/tycoon games before, so I didn't find this game very original, but, I haven't seen games like this often, so I'll give you some points here.

**I get the feeling that you thought this was a bit repetitive, so perhaps the point is that this was an extremely easy game, made complex by a bad interface design. Maybe you could include something like that?

Sorry, too busy right now. I just hope I could post a better project here, though. Well, maybe I could post my research simulations here. Would that be okay, Mr. Borrego6165?

Reviewing Disaster Struck Area: Pure Luck Game

My Description: This game is where you hope for the best and against basically insane odds you can always stay on a non-sinking platform. Problem is, this game can't accomplish it well because its design is bad.

Game Design 1/10
“This game made me want to stop playing the minute I started. I know it is pure luck, but that doesn't mean you can't make it a good game. What if the luck was at least hidden, to make it look like the player was doing something? What if the player COULD do something to help themselves? Why do I just move around and press space for no reason??? The game design is definetely lacking and it should be improved.”

Originality 2/10
“I have to admit at least the content was somewhat original. It wasn't a good concept, but it is definetely something I would have to say is original… But there are still a lot of “Don't fall” games, and “Pure Luck Games” so I can't score it that highly.“

Ease Of Use 3/5
“The game itself wasn't hard to control. The tutorials fit in the slot to the right, in the instructions. But I do have to say that having me move my character for pure luck was very silly and unnecessary. But I will give it 3/5 since it was mostly okay.”

Difficulty Balance 0/5
“Because it was pure luck, it is nearly impossible to win the game. I didn't see any comments reading that they had won the game, so I can bet that nobody did. I played for five minutes, and I did not win or even get close to winning.“

Graphics 1/5
“Basic sprites compiled with ones made by the Scratch Team. No original sprites other than some boxes and a logo, and not really that good of them, either.

Sound 0/5
“Sound is literally not present.”

Firing Round 3/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)
Reliability 1/2
0 (Very Glitchy) 1 (A few glitches) 2 (Hardly any glitches)
Game Length 2/2
0 (Too Short) 1 (Descent Length) 2 (Long lasting or endless)
Game Pace 0/2
0 (Very slow or too long for it's own sake) 1 (Quite engrossing) 2 (Very well paced and fun)
Replay Value 0/2
0 (Would never replay/ did not want to finish it the first time) 1 (Might replay) 2 (Too good to stop!)
Programming 0/2
0 (Simple to make) 1 (Fairly advanced) 2 (It was very complex)

Overall Experience 5/50
“I didn't enjoy the experience that this game had to offer. It starved me of content that me, a gamer and a Scratcher, would want! If you want a lot of enjoyability and players, you need to create a lot of content (or a small, endless, addictive-type game). This is not it! I know it is a first project, so learn from your experience and do better next time.
