I'd like my game reviewed please.
It's an RPG that I spent about a month on. Sorry that it might seem a little bit rushed, but I was trying to get it out as soon as possible for a competition I didn't finish in time.
This link isn't suspicious at all.

Regalia

“Journey through the Zónic of Oasis, the land in the sky, as you aid Reya and Beet to collect sacred relics in order to prevent an ancient evil's resurrection…”

Game Design 7/10
This is a magnificent project, but sadly not a magnificent game. With the exception of the starting logo screen that was way too long, the pacing of this project was brilliant! It begins with a dramatic opening with a detailed storyline, with gorgeous graphics and wonderful background music to set the tone. However, what sets this game back is the actual gameplay. I felt that walking around (in slow motion) on what was quite a bare island felt boring. Then again, I'm a huge 3D zelda fan (OOT, MM, WW) but I've never been a fan of the 2D ones, even from “classic” RPG series' like Pokemon, so this is probably just me not “getting it”.

Still, the engaging, dramatic opening, along with sweet music and cool graphics help save this game, but exploring doesn't feel much fun or rewarding when the islands are bare. I tried going around the temple where the first piece was meant to be, because there was a small path. If that small path would had lead to a hidden treasure, that would have been so cool! I would have felt so rewarded for simply finding a thin strip of grass to walk on. Instead, it presumed I wanted to go inside the temple, and threw me inside.

So, not only does there need to be some real exploration elements added, but there also needs to be more to do than walking and hitting space for actions. For example, being able to ride the plane and fly it to an island (even if you weren't allowed there yet and your advisor said “We cannot land there”) would have made it more fun. In addition, this would have also given us the opportunity to look for bonus islands that have extra treasures on them!

The pacing in the introduction, the perfect tone, and the mystery in the engaging story (like when the girl vanishes in the first piece's temple) reward this a seven! It loses three points because the actual gameplay is… walking around and hitting space.

Originality 9/10
Whilst RPG adventure games are very common, it's unusual to find it all so well preserved on scratch. With the exception of a lack of hidden places to explore, this has many interesting characters and a detailed (albeit cliche) storyline. If there were more unique gameplay elements, such as being able to fly and find hidden treasures, plus a less cliche story, this would have easily have scored a ten.

Ease Of Use 5/5
This game has a tutorial, and the controls were easy to use. No problems.

Difficulty Balance 1/5
Unfortunately I only had the time to play up to where the first piece was, however this was after visiting “the hut”. Up to this point, there wasn't much in gameplay to make this challenging at all. The only challenge it trying to find your way around, but the islands aren't that huge, and are certainly nothing like the hub world in Wes64's Spectrum. Maybe I didn't get far enough; nevertheless, a game should present to you a challenge (even if it is an easy one) from the very start to make the gameplay more engaging.

Graphics 4/5
This is a tough one. The introduction was brilliant, and the character and object designs were amazing. They all have unique looks, and objects like the plane looked great. The many spelling mistakes throw you out of the world. Also, the text wasn't properly fitted into the speech bubbles for the introduction story, and once you passed the introduction, you awake inside a room (presumably a house) that is not detailed, and looks rushed. The island was also a bit disappointing. Nothing was drawn all that neatly such as the wonky fountain and the odd shaped buildings. The island was also really bright, considering that it was meant to be night. If the lines on the grass were smaller (even to just pixel-sized) and made darker so that it blends in with the rest of the grass, it would have looked a lot better. The overworld map screen was also missing detail, it was basically a blue screen with green shapes on it. Still, all of these problems I've mentioned are no worse than what's on many other projects, so this deserves a four.

Sound 3/5
The music was simply brilliant. There was plenty of it, and it was all suitable. There should have been more sound effects though. 3/3 for music, 0/2 for sound effects.

Firing Round 7/10 (This is the addition of the following scores)
Reliability 1/2
0 (Very Glitchy) 1 (A few glitches) 2 (Hardly any glitches)
Game Length 2/2
0 (Too Short) 1 (Descent Length) 2 (Long lasting or endless)
Game Pace 1/2
0 (Very slow or too long for it's own sake) 1 (Quite engrossing) 2 (Very well paced and fun)
Replay Value 1/2
0 (Would never replay/ did not want to finish it the first time) 1 (Might replay) 2 (Too good to stop!)
Programming 2/2
0 (Simple to make) 1 (Fairly advanced) 2 (It was very complex)

Overall Experience 30/50
This game was full of suspense, and the pacing was good overall, but was only great before I had to explore the island in slow motion. There are moments that will thrill you, and others that may bore you. If this game had real gameplay elements, this would have scored much higher. Sadly, it's more of a showcase of the world than an actual game. My experience was still a good one, and I will remember this game for a long time, unlike most others that I forget within a few minutes. With some better gameplay elements, less spelling mistakes, and some extra care on the detail of the worlds you explore, this will become a 50/50 all-around classic.

TOTAL: 66/100

Key
0-19 I could have made that in my sleep!
20-39 Needs a lot of work.
40-59 An average project I suppose.
60-79 Quite a cool project.
80-94 Wow! It only needs a bit of tweaking.
95-100 You're the top cat!

I never put names next to requests, except that time because no one would have known who requested it. I've made it clearer now.

If you want to make something that can replace the scratch quiz in a week's time then please make something that's fun or informative. For example, unless I get any submissions, I'll be releasing an 8-part guide on how to make tycoon games.

Sir Borrego6165, you should make a project about this quiz. Make new questions, since some people can see my answers. Good luck with that.

I did originally but it looked tacky and I couldn't be bothered to make it look cool!
