New Ideas

Hey, scratch team. Just a few ideas. Here are my ideas.

1. User Data
Cloud Data is great, but what about data that never changes, but only for that one user. I call it, User Data! This is data that never changes unless it is told to change by script, but is only for the specific user that is using the project.

2. Leaderboard section
There is a control section and a looks section, right? What about a leaderboard section! It will function just like variable lists, except they never change, and are stored on the server. It sorts the numbers from the highest at the top, to the smallest at the bottom. You can choose when and when not to show the leaderboard. This is an easy way to have leaderboards in your games.

3. Achievement section
What if someone wants ingame acheivements that work just like Newgrounds video game medals. That’s where an Achievement section comes to play. Once a player gets an achievement, they get it displayed on their profile on Scratch and it is stored on the server, and all acheivements will be listed, along with an icon for it chosen by the creator of the project. It will say on the Profile, Acheivements (number of achievements)

I hope you like my ideas!

these are cool, but check out mine!

Haha! Papyrus:
Human! This is your final and most dangerous challenge! When I say the word, it will fully activate! Cannons will fire, spikes will swing, and blades will slice! and, each part will swing violently up and down! only the tiniest change, chance of victory, will remain.. *snowman* “papyrus you fiend!” are you ready? *Snowman* “NOOO!” Because… Im… About… To do it! *dog swings* *sans* “whats the hold up?” Hold up? What hold up? Im about to activate it now! *ffffff* *sans* “we-ah- that doesn't look very activated.” Well? This challenge it seems, may be too easy to defeat the human with! Naah! we cant use this one! Im a skeleton with standards! My puzzles are very fair… and my plans are excellently cooked! And this plan is to direct! Away it goes!

what about Camera effects? Meaning you could make it like the camera is shaking or moving side to side fast or like a light is flciknig on and off etc…

I am TreasureChest, I make remixes and animations. Instead of being like most remixers where they just add the character and that is that I try to make mine detailed as possible.

What kind of data would be stored? Age? Projects made? Followers? It would take up way too much memory, so this I don't support.
I think he means cloud variables, but like only for 1 person.
Like, the level number a person is on.

It would store your progress on a project, like for a save function in a Pokémon game (which is not possible right now). I support, although once cloud lists come around, there will be a workaround.

Um, hello? Not every project is a game, so a leaderboard category is very vague and can easily be made with a list and a few variables.

That's a no-no. The ST have already declined this idea, because Scratchers could be discouraged by the few achievements they get.

Hey, don't be so mad over my ideas! I understand that you may not like these ideas. I was just trying to suggest something. Jeez, dude!

1. Support.
2. This can be scripted. And as ProdigyZeta7 said, not every project is a game. Maybe this could only appear if you add the tag “game”?
3. See this topic, number #11.

Some camera effects can be done with a separate sprite or two set aside for specific effects, like a “Pinhole” effect or a sweep effect. The sweep effect is hard to pull off, though…

You can make your own leaderboard using cloud data, and you can also create your own achievements. As for the user data, that I agree with.

Now get out of the kumquat's stomach and go do something productive with your life. Like playing this game over and over again. Very productive.
