I think it’s interesting that they are using an intermediate version of the scratch website as they are developing scratch 4.0

I don't think it'll really be “an intermediate version”. I think they're doing something similar to 3.0 where they started shipping Scratch-WWW a few years before the release of Scratch 3. Though NGP will almost certainly also replace ScratchR2 (assuming that it's based on the Scratch for School pilot), whereas Scratch-WWW kind of just sits on it.

In other words, we're getting the website early!

This is definitely interesting as there was no major difference in the design since the color change of 2023.

School.scratch.org uses ngp, and someone enabled elements for parts of ngp

Wasn't there a major vulnerability in the Scratch platform allowing XSS? I hope that will be fixed soon.

It doesn't allow for XSS, only inserting styles, so it is mostly harmless

The correct domain is schools.scratch.org, which just says ‘Not found’ as it was taken down. You can still see it on the Wayback Machine, although it is a bit buggy there

there is another one that IS xss (that is triggered by opening the costumes tab on a malicious project)

I found a pull request on the Scratch-WWW repo that references NGP. To be specific, it checks whether the logged in user is migrated and, if it is, redirects to whatever NGP_HOST will be set to (probably scratch.org)
