Ü; the happy face.

History Of the Smiley Face:

Who Really Invented the Smiley Face? The iconic yellow smiley face, a symbol of joy, was created by American artist Harvey Ball in 1963 for an insurance company's morale campaign but exploded into global culture after being popularized on buttons with “Have a Nice Day,” evolving from crude ancient precursors to a ubiquitous symbol in rave culture, fashion, and digital communication, eventually inspiring World Smile Day.
Origins & Popularization
Ancient Roots: Simple smiling faces have appeared for millennia on pottery and in art, but Ball's design captured the modern spirit.
The 1960s: New York radio station WMCA used a yellow smiling face in 1962, and Ball's version for State Mutual Life Assurance Company in 1963 (for $45) featured distinctive oval eyes and a “Mona Lisa” smile.
“Have a Nice Day”: Brothers Bernard and Murray Spain put Ball's design on buttons, selling millions and tying it to the era's optimism and Vietnam War counterculture.
Evolution & Meaning
Commercial Boom: The simple design was never copyrighted by Ball, allowing it to spread wildly and become a commercial phenomenon.
Counterculture Icon: In the ‘80s and ’90s, it became a symbol for rave culture, appearing on ecstasy pills and party flyers.
Digital Age: Computer keyboards adopted smileys as emoticons (like ), making them essential in digital communication, notes simple.wikipedia.org and Wikipedia.
Enduring Symbol: Today, it signifies happiness, good cheer, and a global call to kindness, championed by The Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation, which sponsors World Smile Day.
Key Figures
Harvey Ball (1963): The American graphic artist who created the recognizable yellow smiley for morale, reports Smithsonian Magazine.
Bernard & Murray Spain (1970s): The brothers who commercialized the image with the “Have a Nice Day” slogan.

They must have a verified email as otherwise, they would not be able to change their pfp or share projects.

Hmmm… One thing that I know that a lot of people overlook while trying to become a scratcher is commenting helpfully. You should frequently comment on other's profiles or projects, helpfully… helping them (lol ) by either giving them tips on how they can make it better while still being respectful, or just commenting complementing their project by saying that you like it or smth. If you're doing this and you're very active, i have no idea why you're not a scratcher yet.

make sure that you're commenting helpfully or complimeting someone, too. that is a part that most people overlook, I think.
