The land our ancestors have lived in, as long as time remembers, was torn apart overnight…
The very ground itself, torn to pieces- the mountains at war with it’s own kind.
And we were caught it its struggle…

If the quake wasn’t bad enough, rapid flashfloods rose from the rivers, washing away all nearby life, and horrific rockslides cascaded down the mountains, flattening houses and trees- and knocking out all power… These powerlines sparked and fizzled, igniting the forest ablaze in an almost beautiful display of nature’s fury…

We lost so… so much… The fallen far outweigh the number of us who remain… But there’s still a faint glimmer of hope, albeit faint.
A kindly old molly, by the name of Celestialreverie, has been healing and gathering as many of us as she can find, preparing to make a great, and dangerous journey to a new home… but will she be able to find, and unit us all…?

And what about those with less… Peaceful ideas…?

Cornflower treaded carefully near the border, keeping a sharp eye out for anyone that might cause him trouble. He just wanted to take a walk and figure out his life. Why was everything so complicated all the time?

Horizoncreek had heard what eir former apprentice had done. Ee spotted him and stormed up, fuming. “You left?” ee hissed. “You had so much potential and you ran away?” Cornflower flinched, ears pinning. He seemed to shrink into himself and tried to compose a valid answer. “I had to..! I had no potential in FogClan.” Of course, this negated what his previous mentor had just started, but maybe he could get through to em.

“What do you mean?! You were an amazing fighter and hunter! You didn't have to leave! You could've told me if someone was- was threatening you or something! I would've dealt with them.” Ee yowled. “No one was threatening me! I left by my own choice to protect someone close!” He snarled back, “I can make my own decisions. I am my own cat and I may do what I want.” Corn's paw dug into the dirt.

“So you chose to be a traitor to the clan? You certainly weren't exiled! Why did you leave, Cornflower?” Hori growled. He left right after his ceremony, did he even deserve a warrior name? “I left because I was not a useful asset to the clan. I wanted to be helpful, and I certainly wasn't while I lived there.” he tried to be somewhat commanding with his tone. “I barely even met the clan. There were three cats in that clan that knew my name and knew me.”

“You were doing more than a lot of cats in the clan! Besides, instead of making yourself more useful, as you put it, you decided to abandon your home?” Hori mewed disbelievingly. Okay so that was true. Cornflower fumbled his words to come up with a response. He was a traitor, all because he wanted to be of use to somebody. Corn looked down at his paws, ashamed. It was a rash decision, but he meant well. Wasn't that enough? Hori watched him look at his paws shamefully. “I doubt you'll be let back into the clan.” ee mewed, voice calmer. “You shouldn't go making such big decisions on a whim, look what happens.”

“I wasn't planning on going back. If I ever returned to the clans, it would be to a stronger one.” Cornflower looked at ee, blinking rapidly before straightening his posture. “I am perfectly happy with who I reside with and what I've left behind.” This was a half-truth, the second half being the lie. Horizoncreek narrowed eir eyes and bared eir teeth. “A stronger clan?” ee hissed, claws as sharp as snake fangs unsheathing. “You truly are a traitor.” Cornflower's claws unsheathed in a defensive reflex, “Better than living without being seen. Traitor or not, FogClan was never my home.” His tail lashed, soft petals falling from his crown.

“Then what is your home?” Vey snarled. “What clan could possibly be better than glorious, wonderful FogClan?!” Corn sighed, shaking his head. “Nowhere, I suppose. It doesn't matter to me where I lay my head for the time being.” There was little point to try and win an argument with Hori, but he could at least try. “You didn't even have a plan when you left? That's… I didn't train you to be a mouse-brain or a mouse-*heart*!” ee spat. How could he? he was a traitor, and traitors were worth nothing. Cats who abandoned their homes were best left in the dust to rot. ee would no longer call Cornflower eir ally. “ I had a plan. Magpie and I would leave and move away from this good for nothing Clan and make our own path to be remembered!” That's as far as he'd gotten with it. Get out, and figure the rest out on the way. “You trained me well, and I thank you for that. I am neither mouse-brained nor hearted and will make you proud, even if we never speak again.” Cornflower's eyes stared straight into ee's.

“And how do you plan on becoming remembered?” Horizoncreek glared at eir former apprentice. “You betrayed the clan. That's something no one can be proud of.” Co returned the glare. “Leaving does not equal betrayal! Plenty of kittypets, loners, and cats from other clans joined FogClan, so are they traitors?” he inhaled deeply. Him and Mag really needed to flesh out the plan.
“Yes, they are only loyal to their new clans! You're no longer loyal to FogClan so that makes you a traitor to us. I'll repeat my question, what. Is. Your. Plan.” Hori retorted, digging eir claws into the ground. By the Dark Forest that was an obvious answer! Why couldn't he answer that himself? “don't have one!” Cornflower yowled. He was never the clever kit in the nursery. All he did was be led by his heart, pulled and pushed around. All he ever did was follow the leader. “I want to be of use to someone! And if that means betrayal then so be it.”

“Just mvrd3r a few cats to get to the Dark Forest!” Hori snarled back. “You'll get caught if you can't plan a simple thing! Where's your drive? Your ambition? Your thirst for something more?” ee growled. “Those are things I taught you! Have you forgotten already?”
Cornflower huffed, tail swishing. he had no response, simply because he wished for nothing more than what he had. He sheathed his claws. Maybe he had forgotten. It'd only been a moon and it was evident Corn couldn't survive on his own. Useless. That's all he was, and all he'd ever be.

“You have no plan, no clan, no motive, nothing. Is this how you're going to spend your life?” Horizoncreek scowled. Such waste. Cornflower could've been such an amazing part of the clan if he had a sliver of confidence. Corn kept his head low as he tried to move away, leave. Go back to wherever it was safe enough for him to stay. He had no place near the clans, not until he was capable enough to fend for himself.

Sproutkit was sitting in the corner of the camp, scraping at the dirt with a claw, their fluffy tail wrapped around their hind legs. An older cat sat basking in the sun, hissing as he pawed at his eye. It was rather annoying, having one eye suddenly not work- Horizoncreek deserved to be underneath the waves- nay, ee don't even deserve to be called “Horizon”! Dirtcreek is much more fitting.

Sprout looked up with anxiety in its eyes as it watched the cross looking tom. They stopped scratching the dirt as they observed him.
He kept pawing over it, rather annoyed. The wound had recently begun the process of healing, so his paw remained rather clean. It decided to gather up what little courage it had and began to take tiny steps toward the tom. He cleaned off his paw, nibbling between the toes.

“what ya looking at, kid?”
“uh….”

He had noticed them and the conversation was too awkward to continue so he just hissed and plodded away.

The cat just slithered over to his mentor. ‘'Hi, what are you teaching me today?’' he asked.

“Uuhhhh” Symphonywing thought “I was thinking we can do a border patrol today!” he had something else in his mind… “Sure, that works.'' Columbinepaw shrugged. ”Alright, let's go to the border;“ Sym said before exiting camp ‘'Okay.’' Col nodded, following behind. Sym left his scent mark on a tree and continued looking back at Col, ”Lead the way“ he meowed and slowed down. ”Okay,“ he nodded again, continuing on along the border. Slowly. Sym followed his apprentice leaving more scent marks on the trees, and Col still continued. ‘'Are we gonna do this all day? he asked. ”No, just for a little more.“ he said and kept padding.

When he was sure Col was focused on the patrol, Sym leaped on him and said ”surprise attack! What do you do? Think quick!“ Columbine yelped, attempting to throw Symphonywing off, holding onto the ground with his claws. ’'ow…'' he hissed. ”You should be ready for everything, and anything.“ He hissed. ‘'Do i really need to be ready for everything at every time?’' he meows, still struggling. ”Yes, you do!“ Sym snarled. Collypaw scowled, furrowing his brow. ‘'Even while i’m asleep?''

”Even if you are asleep.“
”That's.. ‘' he blinks. ’' stupid.''

He fixed his eyes on him. They burnt and he tried to not yell “Collypaw. I can just leave you to fend for yourself. If you want. If not, you are stuck with me, and my methods.” He paused, narrowing his eyes “And being ready for anything is NOT stupid. Cats are dying because of surprising attack of predators and DONT know what to do when someone bigger attacks them. So no. It is not stupid”

Col paused. He was just silent, having that really sink in. ‘'Why in every single moment? even, when it’s not neccesary?'' Columbinepaw asks, trying to keep his cool. “You are out of camp, where foxes can attack. I could have k1ll if I wanted, Collypaw!” he snarled “You cannot be sure!”

He winced. Maybe he should have just kept quiet. ‘'… Okay.’'
“Let's just! Leave.” He snarled “Leave Collypaw, go back to camp!”

And that was that. The next morning, Col woke up feeling… not so refreshed.

“Hey Collypaw! Yo have to learn how to swim immediately! Where are you?”
Columbinepaw hesitantly stuck his head out of the apprentice's den. ‘'I’m here . . ‘' he meowed.

“Follow me” Sym eyed him and left camp. He was going to be rough this time. Goldpaw followed behind. ’'You're not gonna drown me, are you?'' he asks, sounding worried. "No. You are GOING to learn how to swim, today. I won't let you go if you don't even if it's moon high!“ he hissed and approached the stream. Col winced, furrowing his brows in fear. ‘' Um.. oh.. okay.. ’' he blinked, slowly inching towards the waters. ”Get in slowly and repeat the steps I told you, yesterday.“

Col blinked, hesitating for awhile before pushing himself into the stream, quickly paddling his paws beneath him.
Symphony watched him, narrowing his eyes he curled his tail around himself. ‘'How- am i supposed to float in this,’' he meows in panic, still flapping his paws in the water. ”Collypaw, If I can, you can too. And we won't leave until you swim.“
''Well, you're more buoyant than me,'' Col said, still in panic, even though he had nothing to panic about. ”When I learnt to swim I was like you.“ He stayed silent. ‘'Why do we have to swim anyway? We’re not in RiverClan or whatever they have over there by the stream.” Sym stood up tall “That doesn't matter. We have water nearby, you will learn how to swim in it.” He hissed. Columbinepaw only blinked, still struggling to keep his head above water. Sym nodded “Try to kick faster…” Col just nodded, paddling his little paws more, floating slightly better. ‘'Why is this so hard…’' he meowed. Sym replied: “It is your second time. And, you are still small, once you grow up it will be easier. Eat your food”

“I already eat, food,'' he furrowed his brow. ‘'I’m tired of this. My legs feel like they're about to explode''
”Alright Collypaw, get out.“ Sym said and helped him get out of the water
Col got out, bristling his pelt, as he was wet and cold. ‘'…I don’t want to swim ever again…'' he muttered.
Sym sighed. At least you know how to not drown.” he mumbled and walked away.
