Scratch jr, a sibling or a child to scratch?

Look, I posted this very late at night so I'll make this short and sweet.
Scratch jr's website does not have the same mit.edu mark that scratch does, so I'm wondering if scratch is the parent company to it (If scratch jr is a semi company), or the sibling to it (made by mit.edu as well).

1. Scratch spun off from MIT years ago.
2. Both seem to be managed by the Scratch Foundation.

Scratch is no longer connected to MIT, although MIT helped them start out back when they were connected, thus the url of scratch.
Scratch has never owned MIT, keep in mind.
However, Scratch and Scratch JR are both creation of Scratch Foundation.
