So, random question: is there a way to animate sprites? Currently I'm using stop-motion, which, I mean, it works, but I was just wondering if there's a better way to do it.

Thanks!

You could maybe try using pen to draw out scenes. And if you look at some of the popular animation projects on the home page or on Explore, you could try looking inside to see how they did it.

Happy almost-mid 2024! My favorite book series are Percy Jackson, The Unwanteds, and Keeper of the Lost Cities! I've read all of the books.

Here's a Scratch Partners studio you can join if you're new OR if you want to help out someone new!

If you don't have the patience to use the pen, you can also use clones.
Also, as someone who has used and continues to use stop-motion animation, yeah, it's slow. Most professional stop motion studios report an average of something like three seconds of footage per day. Not that anything I do is that high-quality, but still I get an average of 30 seconds of footage per day at 30 frames per second.

The devs really need to update the scratch-gui repo- I'm getting at least 19 “npm warn deprecated” warnings whenever I try to install its dependencies, and yes, I'm using the latest version of node.js and npm. Then again, the dev page on this website and the wiki in the repo still refer to Scratch 3.0 in beta, and link the current website as an example of 2.0.
