Remove the trigonometry operators in the editor

Scratch is meant to be simple, except there are these six trigonometry operators that are complicated for new users.
The trigonometry operators are the sine, cosine, tangent, arcsine, arccosine and arctangent.
Removing these trigonometry operators would make Scratch more simple for new users.

They're essential for anything more then thr simplest programs.
If kids are never exposed to trig they'll never use it.

No thank you, I like being able to program smooth animation in projects.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.

“Scratch is meant to be simple-” OBJECTION

Scratch is meant to be a Low Floor & High Celling Engine, which means it can be used by anybody to make simple projects while also having enough tools to create extremely complex projects !!
+
The trigonometry operators are pretty much hidden away in a singular block & it's not like theres a requirement to use them for every project.

It is not meant to be simple, it is meant to be a programming language for kids.

I see no need to remove them, it would help experienced users while newer users would not use it, and that is perfectly fine.

It is only in one block, meaning that it would be even easier for newer users to not use.

I don't understand. Isn't smooth animation just
repeat (10)
change [x velocity v] by (3)
change x by (x velocity)
set [x velocity v] to ((x velocity) * (0.8))
end
There is no need for trigonometry.

If Scratch was a room, it would have a low floor, wide walls, and a high ceiling.

* Low floor: It should be easy to climb in and get started with Scratch - even for Scratchers who have no experience programming.

* Wide walls: Scratchers should be able to make all kinds of things with Scratch - not just animations and games, but news programs, science experiments - things we can't even imagine.

* High Ceiling: Even though it's easy for someone who is new to programming to get started with Scratch, it should still be possible to make complex stuff.

I recommend reading jvvg's essay about the scratch team before complaining, as it may change your opinion and provide insight on the topic.

This seems like a troll suggestion, as the trig blocks aren't mandatory, and therefore doesn't really affect the low floor and high ceiling aspect of Scratch.

Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.
