Local Server Hosting (that uses your WiFi)

Please add a option that can be toggled, which is a local server hosting thingy that uses your WiFi to host this server 24/7. This would save on server costs and server storage, because it will use your WiFi for cloud variables instead of scratch's limited servers. You could increase cloud variable limits this way. Some limit increasing suggestions would be:

- 1024 characters per cloud variable

- 32 cloud variables

You can keep other cloud variable rules such as no characters and special symbols.

This would add a very good solution to the cloud variable problem.
Thank you for reading this.

Problem is; the electricity bill is gonna skyrocket by 1000%; and also it's going to constantly get you Wi-Fi outages

This is not how servers work by just killing your electricity and network

Also, you can setup a cloud server with TurboWarp's server as a starting point

Semi-support, it would save scratch money but a hacker could use it to find your address because they could find the wifi

NO

In order to do this you would have to expose the REAL LIFE location of your house to anyone who opens the project

I’d rather not let a project know my location

Wi-Fi also uses IP addresses, and in order for someone to use their Wi-Fi as a server host they need to give the IP of their computer anyway

It’s not just the project, it’s anyone who interacts with the project will also know your location

Only ST Would. There would have to be some security measures to stop hacking tho

It doesn't say scratchs cloud variable server so it wouldn't show yours

Look everyone, you don't understand that it would just be for anyone viewing your project. They don't need the WiFi password or that stuff to play

I mentioned that, there'd be rules in place of who could do it and security measures in place

You can mask your server's IP by using Cloudflare Tunnels

starlightsparker wrote:

Do you mean the sort of hacks people use to change the values of variables, or hacking to gain access to the system?

No, the connection would eventually route to your IP, using chromes browser tools you can see where requests are being sent to so you will eventually get one that finds your ip
