Rhythm Prism: Community Mix

Rhythm Prism: Community Mix
It’s the ultimate rhythm game to (probably) end all rhythm games! In the series finale (maybe) of this rhythm game series brought to you by yours truly, you can have even more fun than ever!

Ever since the release of Rhythm Prism 3, I’ve said over and over again that I would not make another rhythm game, but it’s always coming back to me for some reason! This project was first meant as a filler while I worked on Right Side City, and now it’s turned into the best rhythm game ever made on Scratch and I’m only 12! (I was 12 when I made the game, my 13th birthday came a month after this was released.)

Play the Game Jolt version here for features that aren't in the Scratch version — trust me, it's worth it.

Overview
This rhythm game features a brand new, easy-to-use interface to ensure you have an awesome experience. It has a lot of new songs to play and stunning new environments. The game also features notes with hold segments to make it even better.

Song selection
The selection screen is like the one in Just Dance 4 (it even has glass effects like in Just Dance 4!). You can use the left and right arrow keys to navigate the menu. If you hover your mouse over the cover arts, you’ll see a very cool effect! Select any available difficulty before pressing play. The game also shows the stats of a song, so if you got 1,000,000 points on Space Battle on PRISMpossible difficulty, the score will show 1,000,000 points when you hover over Space Battle on PRISMpossible.

Note that some songs support only PRISMpossible difficulty (e.g. Supernova by Xtrullor). You can make your own difficulty beatmap for those kinds of songs using the built-in level editor (more about that later)!

Gameplay
A window featuring your score, combo, and multiplier will hover at the top of the screen during gameplay. Each time you hit a note, you will gain points based on accuracy. If you get a BAD hit, you will lose some HP. If you miss a note entirely, you will lose a larger amount. Any other score will increase your HP by 1%. If your HP is anything less than 1%, you will fail instantly (unless you have No-Fail enabled, more about that later). In Deluxe difficulty, elements will change, such as note lanes ‘closing’ (pressing a lane’s key during its ‘closure’ will lose you HP), the level flipping horizontally, and the feedback translating to Spanish.

Score recap
If you clear a song, you will see your final score, along with the accuracy, highest combo, and rank. You will also see the number of missed notes, BAD hits, GOOD hits, GREAT hits, and PERFECT hits you made. I was going to add a performance bar like in Rhythm Prism 3, but it got removed due to lag…

Modifiers
The game provides modifiers, which change the way the game is played, like in other rhythm games (e.g. Beat Saber).
- No-Fail You will never fail the song even after losing all your energy. This modifier will only affect your score by -50% when you lose your energy.
- Limited Mistakes You can only make a fixed (8) amount of mistakes before losing all your energy.
- Full Combo You cannot miss a single note or get a BAD hit.
- All Perfects Any score that is less than +150 (a PERFECT hit) will end the game immediately.
- Pro Mode Notes will be harder to get a PERFECT hit on.
There are lots more modifiers where that came from, but I’m not even going to bother listing them all

All-new campaign mode
If you get bored with the game at any time, there are other stuff you can try! For example, if you want to play the Campaign mode, just click the thing in the main menu that says ‘Prismatica.’ It will take you to the Prismatica title screen. Prismatica is an all-new campaign mode featuring new characters. There are 50+ missions in this campaign mode. Each mission has its own level and its own difficulty. You’ll even get information about what’s going on in Prismatica! Deathtrap has stolen the Master Prism and this new, unlikely cast of characters need your help to recover the pieces needed to form it again! If you can beat all the missions, comment ‘I finished the campaign!’

Multiplayer mode?
Rhythm Prism but with a twist! Now up to four people can join the action! To play this mode, click the thing in the main menu that says ‘Quick Play.’ You will be taken to the Quick Play lobby. You select the number of people playing (you can also play by yourself), and the difficulty level (Deluxe difficulty is not supported). Then you have 55 seconds to decide who goes first (if three or four players are playing, the user in control of navigation will always go first). After those 55 seconds (or you can just click the ‘Skip Countdown button), a song will be selected at random**, and you will be taken to the Quick Play stadium.

Singleplayer mode: You can now play Music Packs*! Set the number of people playing to one, and it will take you to the Music Packs page. Select one and you can play songs from the chosen Pack consecutively**. If you're on the Scratch version, then you'll just be given a random song like in multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer mode: The players will take turns playing the selected song. Players may pause the game if they wish to pass their turn. Each player’s score will be recorded, whether they’ve failed the song, cleared the song, or passed their turn. When everyone’s had their turn, the results will show, and the player with the highest score will be crowned the winner! There’s also an option to return to the lobby, taking all the players with you (but that wouldn’t be fair to the other players who worked hard to get their score!

The level editor
You can make your own beatmaps using the level editor! You can even use songs that aren’t in the main game, or even upload your own*! For more information, go to the ‘Resources’ section in this post and select ‘Custom level codes.’

Have fun playing the best rhythm game on Scratch!

* Exclusive to the Game Jolt version.
** Some of the in-game songs may not be selected depending on the selected difficulty.
