Scratch for Seniors (ScratchSr.)

Scratch is a programming language for beginners, its classification is for children from 8 to 16 years old. For the little ones from 5 to 7 years old there is ScratchJr., but what if we had a Scratch for the elderly (from 60 to 80 years old)? It would be called “ScratchSr.”. But unlike conventional Scratch, it would use colors with more contrast, which can be tested here.

High contrast colors:

And because they don't know what the Cartesian plane is (X and Y position), we could have these blocks:

change width by (10) :: motion

set width to (0) :: motion

change height by (10) :: motion

set height to (0) :: motion

Isn’t that test in Scratch Labs to help with low vision? It’s already planned to be added.
Theres already an option to increase and decrease the size of the blocks in the editor.

Couldn't seniors just use normal scratch?
also, seniors often have far-sighted vision, which means that contrast blocks are not going to help.
also how would the scratch team even have the resources to make this?

While this is excellent satire, making fun of how Scratch Labs idea of high contrast would only really help seniors, it is technically rejected

7.2 A 13+ version of the Scratch website or age-restricted content
Scratch is designed for ages 8 to 16, but any content shared on the website must be appropriate for all ages. Dividing the community by making a separate, age-restricted website would not be helpful. Potential restrictions from entering the website (such as a warning, or requiring a parent to answer math equations) would not necessarily stop an underage child from entering the 13+ website.

This suggestion extends to age-restricting anything on Scratch, such as viewing specific projects. As a general rule, content shared on the Scratch website should be appropriate for all ages.

In his ravenous hatred, he found no peace, and with boiling blood he scoured the Suggestions seeking vengeance against the dupers who had wronged him. Technically, that applies to age restrictions, this applies to the aesthetics of the blocks instead.

The OP never said anything about it permitting age restricted content, which would not fall under age restricted content. Being aimed at is not equivalent to being restricted to.

there's still the fact that it seems the OP is trying to suggest a separate website.

If this suggestion is legit, i doubt the OP wants it to be only for seniors, rather, all ages aimed at seniors. And, to my knowledge, TOLORS doesn’t say anything about making a new website.

I don't exactly see the point in our grandmas making scratch games, to be honest.

Ultimately, it may be better to keep funding focused on the 4 or 5 sites the ST runs before making a whole new website for people who can easily use the main site and press the + button in the editor.
