Today I was checking in my language translation drop down on scratch website, and I saw that there was no Hindi language I felt sad kindly add the language. There are lots of Indian Scratchers on scratch so scratch team should add the Hindi language in it.

I also speak Hindi.

It's scratch team responsibility to add the language. We are not scratch team we are just common people who are on this platform.

When they can add Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Odia, Bangla,Turkish and etc. Then they can also add the Hindi language in it. That does not make sense that they have an old system. The system can be upgraded to support this.

Also, a scratcher told me @SavetheAtlantic that Scratch uses Transifex for their translation and that supports Hindi! Here you can check https://explore.transifex.com/llk/scratch-website/

There are more than 500 million people who speak Hindi in India.

i looked through it and couldnt find a hindi option surprisingly how is that not already an option

support! I'm actually surprised it's not there considering how largely known the language is!

I heard somewhere that it's because of the translation software they use and Hindi isn't supported.

There is actually a way to translate anything into Hindi despite there being no dropdown option for Hindi:

(translate [Hello, World!] to (join [Hindi] []):: extension translate) // Translates to "नमस्ते दुनिया!"

Behoth sae loge hindi bolthae hai. Kaeval ak mota aloo hindi nehi jodaega.

Yeah! Good point that's true!

If scratch code blocks can support Hindi translation then its difficult to understand why the language can't be supported in the website translation dropdown.

Could you elaborate on this? I assumed in the past that this was the case. That's why the “Meow” and “Edible Scratch” languages were removed, for instance — the translation system that Scratch uses does not recognize these as official languages. So I assumed that the Scratch Team's language system was based on some certain already-established set of languages outside of the Scratch Team's control.

Not directly related, but it is similar to entry 8.10 in the list of rejected suggestions, stating that the Scratch Team will not be changing their list of locations due to the fact that they go by some sort of international standard for their location list.
