SWC excerpt ( (co)leader application)

Hi. I'm Y/N. And I am not a busybody. Just someone who is mistaken to be asleep.

'So you see, ma'am, your daughter is a Moonstar.'
My eyes widened as I listened through the keyhole. A man was talking to my parents. He had arrived after I had just woken up, so nobody knew I was awake. He was wearing those black explorer outfits, and another man was beside him too.
A Moonstar is a person who has a one-in-a-million chance of being born. It's like being the sliver of the moon, just before it's about to disappear, in a sky full of stars. That's how it got its name.
I always believed I was a Moonstar. Nobody believed me, of course, but I could feel it. It was coursing through my veins.
And if I'm correct, it was magic.

I flung open the door, still in my nighty. I wanted to shout ‘I told you so’ and dance throughout the neighborhood, but the sight of the second man stopped me. His eyes were not exactly cold, but not exactly friendly either. But that didn't stop my eyes from sparkling in disbelief at the fact that I was a Moonstar.

The first man smiled, and he wasn't so intimidating anymore. His comrade smiled too, and relief washed over me. He wasn't frightening at all! How could somebody be scared of him?

I wanted to speak, but my mouth remained shut like it was refusing to open. Instead, my eyes conversed the question.

The first man nodded and held out his hand.
'Yes,' he said while I shook it.
'Yes, Miss L/N, you are a Moonstar'

The second man stood up, clapping his hands together.
'Well, Mrs. L/N, Mr. L/N.' he said, looking at both my parents. ‘If you would allow us to take her to camp now, we could leave, but we understand if you want to stay with her for a few more days.’
My mother shook her head. ‘There are visiting days, yes?’
The first man nodded. ‘Yes, five days every month. She can also come back in winter if she wants to.’
My eyes widened. Well, that was nice. In other hostels, I realized they could only visit every half year. Sure, it would be fun, but I would still miss them.
My mother smiled. ‘That’s nice. We can visit quite a lot..' She looked at me. ‘Don’t worry about us, okay? We're always here, and we're very proud of you.'
I quickly went to my room to pack my suitcases. After all, I'd be staying there for a long time. It was so bizarre that I almost put a photo frame in my bag.
I was about to take it out when my hand stopped. I put the photo back in. It would be nice to have something to remind me about my family.
When my brother woke up and heard about this, he ate his breakfast in one gulp and rushed to change.

I came out. My hair was at its neatest. For once, I was quiet and said nothing. I was indecisive; to go or to stay?
I shook my head. I would go. They could visit me every month, and this was what I had always wanted. I stepped forward.
My brother sighed resentfully. 'I want to be a Moonstar.' I smiled at him. ‘ You never know,’ I said. ‘Maybe, when you’re sixteen, they'll pick you up too.'
I glanced at the two men. His eyes sparkled with hope.

I got into the car, sudden tears brewing in my eyes. All at once, I wanted to jump out and go back home. But I gritted my teeth and stiffened my body, climbing into the car, accepting I would miss them profusely.
I waved at them furiously from the back seat of the limo. I kept waving and waving till my family went out of view. I slumped back onto the comfortable seating.
Wait. Limo?
I was sure it was just a car.
I could see the second man smirking as I realized with a shake of my head. Right. Magic.

A few minutes later, I smiled evilly, realizing that being a Moonstar gave me ultimate bragging rights.
Maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

The above is an excerpt from a fanfiction I'm writing. I might release the next parts as extra writing!!!

SWC excerpt ( (co)leader application)

Yasmine glanced around in wonder. She had never quite seen something so beautiful.
You took her hand and led her onwards. The butterfly garden seemed to expand forever. The only thing preventing you from getting lost was the Mansion, right in the middle of the glorious field.
The butterfly garden wasn't exactly a garden. It was eternity, or at least what it seemed to most of you. The people who lived in the Mansion had never seen it. The Monarch forbade it.
(Get it? Monarch, butterfly.
I'll stop now.)

Yasmine was the youngest of the daughters who were from the castle. She was only twelve, and the family members were only allowed to look outside after adulthood, which was around thirty, depending on the selfish King. He was allowed to roam the gardens whenever he wanted, and no one could very well object, could they?

You heard a faint sobbing behind you. Upon turning, you saw Yasmine crying at the beautiful sight. It was magnificent, and you couldn't object. She probably never seen anything like this if she had been in the Mansion this whole time.
Yasmine was your only friend in this whole town. At least she was the only one who was around your age. You had this curious urge to make friends with people who were older than you.

Yasmine had long, russet hair till her lower back and the prettiest blue eyes you would have probably seen in your life. She was like a butterfly herself, with petite legs. She had long arms, beautiful hands, and delicate fingers, which any butterfly could sit on. And her face, so serene. You doubted you could have ever made friends with her.

She seemed like royalty. She seemed untouchable. Which she was.
But she's pretty nice once you get to know her.

We heard a muffled sound of outrage. Too soon, we realized it was the King.
'Run,' I whispered.
And boy, did we run.
We ran like the wind on a stormy day. We skidded like mud on tires when we came to corners. We almost catapulted into the orange seller's cart. But we made it. We finally jumped over the city wall.
We screamed in happiness, running as fast as our legs could take us.
We had finally escaped this mad haven.

The intoxicating flowers.
The perfect butterflies.
The symmetrical houses.
It was all a lie. To keep us trapped in there forever.
Bye-bye, Encanto.

Now, to find Yasmine's parents. Her real ones.

Another Fanfiction! This one is complicated, and I haven't even started writing it. ^^' This is a cut-out of the first chapter because that is very long.
In case you're confused (which you probably are), here is a tiny spoiler- there are two Encantos in this story.
