Writing buddies are basically partners who check up on each other, support one another and advice each other during the editing process in December definitely didn't use Poppy's explanation from the sign up project- ;D.

How this will work will probably be like this:
• Someone signs up and mentions they want a writing buddy
• If they have a first preference, go to the users profile, inform them that the person who signed up would like for them to be their writing buddy, and link the sign-up project in case they want to join as well
• Let them know that they should reply to your message and comment on the profile of the person who signed up to make you aware of whether they want to be a writing buddy or not. If they don't want to be one, give them just an ‘okay, thanks for replying!’ and copy and paste the original message onto the profile of the 2nd preference
• If someone initially says no to being a buddy, but changes their mind later on when someone else has become a buddy for the person who signed up, just tell them that unfortunately, said person already has a writing buddy
• If two people want to be writing buddies with each other, and both signed up, just pair them together — no need to go into the specifics of posting on people's profiles
• Someone should probably make note of all the assigned buddies (and the people waiting to be assigned buddies) on the committee forum so people don't get confused

Sorry for the long post! ^^ It's not going to be as tedious as this post makes it look, that's for sure- XD Maybe one or two people should be in charge of assigning and everyone else spreads the word or makes note of the buddies so that the tasks are more spread out /⁠ᐠ⁠｡⁠ꞈ⁠｡⁠ᐟ⁠\
I'm the type of person who likes to overcomplicate things. If anyone comes up with a simpler way to go about this than I described, please use that method. Chances are, it'll make life easier for everyone XDD

One more thing to mention to those of you are volunteers:
You can also accept applications on the sign-up project! When you do so, go ahead and invite the person who signed up to curate the NaNoWriMo studio ฅ⁠^⁠•⁠ﻌ⁠•⁠^⁠ฅ Make sure you check on the project fairly regularly, in case anyone nee has signed up (or in case someone else accidentally skimmed over a sign up form), and be sure to reply to each form saying ‘accepted! I’ll invite you to curate the studio now — have fun, and good luck!' or something along those lines so that the other volunteers, as well as the people joining, know who has been invited ▼⁠・⁠ᴥ⁠・⁠▼

Writing partners have a couple jobs- firstly, just checking up on each other- to see how far the other is, if they have writer's block, or if they just need someone to talk to. Secondly, they can (if they want to) ask for help, like if they don't know how to phrase something or if they don't know how to develop a certain character. Lastly, they'll help each other in the editing process, which we'll do in Dec. Any other questions?

Hi Shadow! And yeah, that's right — we were brainstorming how to separate general SWOW behind-the-scenes tasks into distinct manager and committee jobs so that the committee can be independent of manager interaction when they have stuff to work on (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠) We still haven't fully discussed or decided who will do what, though.

And sure, why not keep the Hat of Advertising a position? It's too iconic to be discarded of XD Feel free to just hop onto the manager forum if you have any ideas about this ʕ⁠·⁠ᴥ⁠·⁠ʔ I think your input will be pretty valuable, considering that you were the committee's biggest advocate for having more responsibility with stuff around here.
