Has anyone had this happen to them?
My project was first page trending for 1 whole day (2nd day of release) and then simply vanished. It's not like it fell a few, rather it's gone completely. It doesn't even come up in any search metrics.
What's happened?

It was probably marked as NFE (Not for everyone)

thanks for the response. is there any way to confirm or check this, and in case it is, is there any way to appeal? I don't know what rule I might've broken. My project does not contain any blood, swearing, or graphical violence

I'm rather upset that this is happening without any notice. I worked so hard on the project and also strategized tremendously to get it seen by people. Is there any way to talk to the admins behind the scenes?

I'm still looking for ways to contact the scratch team though. I've sent a “contact us” form but got an automated reply saying that the wait could be long. Which absolutely sucks because the trending/top loved window is less than a week. It would be meaningless if this problem got resolved too late, since at that point people won't see my project anyway.
Someone pls LMK if they know a way to make communication happen faster.

Yes, I’ve had it happen to me. I know of a few others too. It’s been classed as Not For Everyone. Someone on the scratch team has decided they don’t want your project to appear on the front page or in search results.

If you use Contact Us, they may tell you why. But from what I’ve seen before their decision is final.

Iḿ very new to Scratch but I might a answer.

I think the trending projects change all the time. On the Scratch homescreen the most loved by the community don´t change very often, but it could have an effect.

Also projects are added all the time so one might take more popularity.

Sadly, sometimes I don even know how Scratch does things with projects and their popularity.

I think something like what @ILoveMyCatBob said might've happened, just an effect from the page not refreshing as fast as you'd expect.

Maybe, when the Explore page refreshed one time, your project was up on there. But then, in the time it took the next refresh to happen, other projects were moving up the list, so when it refreshed, it instantly appeared to go off the list.

But the project could have also been considered NFE and that could be why it's off, but I don't know so much about how stuff is picked to show on the Explore area or how long stuff typically stays up there.

No my project was definitely NFE'd. I've been on trending 4 times now so I am very familiar with timespan. This time I was simply erased after 1 day. This doesn't happen naturally. You can't even search for my game in the search bar.
