TOTAL: 2502 words
#1 - Setting (311 words)
The Adventure Pirate Ship had been capsized. How could it be? You scoffed at the boat in the distance. They had no right to do this. Cannons had been launched into the ship’s sails, main deck, and rudder. The once pristine ship was in ruins. And it was sinking. Everyone on board was panicking, and you were too. They were all thinking of things to do. There seemed like there was no way to fix the ship now. The sails were torn to the point where they looked like strips of paper. The cleanly mopped deck was in ruins, planks of wood splayed all over the place. Ashes made the planks covered with darkness. There was also a huge excavation at the back of the boat. Flames were scattered across the vessel, disintegrating as they met the water. You watched in horror as almost half the boat was in the water already. Sparks were flying everywhere, almost as if it was a fireworks show, but that was clearly not the case. Whoever was behind this, would pay. Though the expedition was honestly very well planned, it shouldn’t have happened. The three cannons that bombarded the ship caused major damage to the boat. It would take years to get this kind of damage repaired. You were shocked that something like this had happened. You were standing there when suddenly, there was a huge noise behind you. A spark had set off the ship’s own cannonballs, launching them out to aimless places. You needed to get out of there before it was too late. You jumped off the boat, splashing into the vast ocean. Grabbing a wooden plank near you, you started thinking of what to do next.
a) Stay on the plank in a safe space near the boat, and wait for help.
b) Swim around the area and look for help.
#2 - Second Person (213 words)
You decided to swim and find a place to stay for the time being. You were glad that in the past, you had learned swimming lessons. Those have come in handy for you. You remember all the strokes and movements you learned in those classes and put them in motion as you tread against the rushing water. The planks of wood were everywhere, but you were careful to maneuver your body around them. You try getting as far away from the sinking vessel as possible, not risking the chance of a deadly disaster.
A chunk of wood comes flying in front of you. You quickly swim backwards as the ripples from it push you backwards, head underwater. You swiftly get back upright, breathing heavily with a sigh of relief. It was a close call, but you aren’t going to take any more chances. You swim rapidly away from the ship, your whole body focusing on the rush of the water against you and the goal you are trying to reach. After what seemed to be hours, you finally come across something that may be worth looking into. A deserted rock cave with algae all over it. You consider your options:
a) Explore the mysterious cave.
b) Keep swimming and look for something else.
