WOTD

✓1. Marking: Sining half voice usually for rehearsal purposes so no one does not over use their voice. Opposite of full out.
✓2. Melody: Also tune, voice, or line, is a linear succession of musical tones that the listener perceives as a single entity.
✓3. Rhythm: How a bear is divided to create different patterns. similar to tempo yet different.

✓8. Staccato: when a dot is written under a note- it should be played as staccato or separated from the other notes. this is the opposite of legato.
✓9. Transpose: To change the key, either higher or lower, of the song.
✓10. Vibrato: The movement of a pitch slightly above or below the pitch center. it is caused by the vibration of your vocal folds
✓11. Accompaniment: The playing of an instrument or instruments along with a singer
✓12. A Cappella: Singing without instrumental accompaniment

14. Anchoring: The use of the entire body while singing. (this will help you hit higher notes)
15. Catch Breath: A quick, short, breath that is taken only when necessary
16. Chest Voice: also known as thick fold. Place your hand on your chest and say, “Ahhhhhh” on a low pitch. If you feel vibrations under your palm, you're using your chest voice. if you don't you are using head voice. chest voice is the closest singing voice to your singing voice.

54. Glottal Stop: the act of obstructing air flow in your vocal tract. (can be heard when you say uh-oh)
55. Wandelprobe: much like a sitzprobe, only this one includes the use of blocking
56. Vocal folds: these muscles inside the larynx are responsible to make sound. as air leaves the lungs it moves through the vocal folds which vibrate against each other, making sound.
57. Intonation: How well one sings in relation to a certain pitch. If someone has intonation issues they will be singing either sharp or flat
