So I have had a problem since about Feb. 7th 2021 where the thumbnails on my projects will not update. I have seen other users discuss a similar issue so I am guessing it may be a site-wide bug and/or just something that is affecting a certain number of users.

To give a better explanation to what is going on: Basically, I make the project and the first thing I save becomes the thumbnail. I cannot change the thumbnail back at a later date. This is very inconvenient for me as I have an aesthetic.

I understand there is a solution for computer users, however, I use an iPad and do not have access to this solution.

Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

Yes but they never update or change. I have been waiting for one of my thumbnails to change for three days.

Try saving a copy of the project.

Once again, my device and my school’s restrictions do not allow me to do this.

Hello! I've been having the same problem for nearly a week. I have already posted threads similar to this in multiple forums, so you are right about many scratchers having this problem, but I don't think it's site-wide since some people still update their thumbnails.

Here's what happened to me: I have made a Scrolling Platformer recently, but the thumbnail didn't look appealing so I added richer colors. It's been a few days, but it can not update. Before, it probably takes only a few hours to update in the my stuff section.

I think it might be a server problem, maybe to a certain device. My OS info: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 88.0.4324.150, No Flash version detected

But if you search it up, it will show the older thumbnail (white and black text and light colors).

Hi guys! It is to do with the scratch servers being slow, due to more people coming on because of the virus.



It will update in a few days - if you are that bothered - finish your thumbnail - wait until it updates In the unshared projects - and THEN share it.
