You should try playing the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show Remakes.
You should also try making Om Nom from cut the rope in Sonic games (If you want to, If you hate om nom, feel free not to)
.Candy should replace rings. Stars should replace Big Rings.
Tails should be Nibble Nom. Knuckles should be Om Nelle. You can do this vice versa, where Knuckles is Nibble nom and Tails is om Nelle.

i just like sonic beta's or prototypes

this seems interesting, i would like to get into rom hacking the original genesis games, but i am only really good at hacking super mario world at the moment

Lunar Magic is the best tool for modifying SMW Levels and AddmusicK is a music tool that lets you insert custom music into SMW.
