The Search For Amara Perryweather (An Original Novel)

Prologue
I woke up to the sound of blaring sirens in my ears. There were people screaming. Lights flashing. It was if it was straight out of a movie. Slowly I pulled off my warm covers, leaving me shivering. I toke a step off my bed. “Ow!” I squealed. It felt like something had cut into my foot. There was blood starting to drip. As I slowly leaned down to see what had cut me, I heard the front door slam and my sister came charging towards me at the speed of light. She was covered in sweat, and she had obviously been crying. She looked as though she had just witnessed somebody kill a puppy. “LUSIANA!” She screamed at me. “WHAT are you doing?!” I was taken back. “What’s going on? Are you ok?” “NO! WHY would I be ok?!” My sister just went missing!” She was panting. Just then did I notice the horror on her face. Her eyes were huge, and puffy. Her makeup was smeared down her face, and her normally perfectly tamed hair was in a tangle. “What do you MEAN she went missing?!” I wailed. “I mean, yesterday she was home, but when mom went to wake her up, she was missing.” I was in shock. I knew my sister would like to wander off with her friends sometimes, but she always came back. This was insane. I hurriedly pulled on some sweats and a T-shirt and pulled my hair up into a messy bun. I ran to the door, slipped on my sneakers, and rushed out the door. Sure enough, there were police cars everywhere, my mom was sobbing next to a police officer trying to calm her down, and there was that yellow tape you see in movies surrounding the house. I rushed up to my mom to understand what had happened. She was howling. When I tried to talk to her, she tried to reply but only started sobbing again. The only words I could make out were “Save her.”

(Author’s Note: This is a weekly novel. Each week I’ll write one chapter and publish it on the weekend. I’m currently on winter break, but once school restarts in January there might be breaks in between chapters. This is going to be a mystery novel if you couldn’t tell, and it’s my 2021 goal to finish it. There probably will be a sequel to if I enjoy writing this one. If you notice any spelling errors, weird breaks or grammar mistakes, don’t hesitate to let me know. Thank you, and enjoy reading!)

The Search For Amara Perryweather (An Original Novel)

Hey peeps! I just felt the impulse to do some writing, so here’s a bit of a quick author’s note before the writing. I’ve changed the narrator’s name to Lusiana, just so there isn’t any confusion. It’s also going to be written in diary entries and other medias, like Kate Messner’s Breakout. Thanks, and here’s the story!

ATTENTION: IMPORTANT
Hi. My name is Luciana Perryweather and I’m about to embark on a journey to find my missing sister. She went missing last Tuesday, and I am going to find her. She vanished in the middle of the night, and when my mom went to find her, she was gone. I’ll be documenting the process of my search in a series of journal entries. I’ll update the situation every time something major happens.
