(#4)squeak back in 2007 and javascript in 2022 are two completely different things. even if it was buggy in 2007 squeak, it may actually work fine in a web browser in this day and age
The blur effect was in 1.2 but was removed because of its glitchiness.Try making a bunch of clones that are ghosted out, it will achieve the same effect as a blur(search up “motion blur effects” on Scratch if you have no idea what I am talking about)
Can you show me an example? Usually when I search something, it comes up with several random results.

I thought stage3d was gpu accelerated, so no, I don't think this will lag at all
blur is still a really expensive algorithm on gpu, it would still cause lag when used excessively, as in, updated every frame for a few sprites, compared to other effect blocks, it would be terrible

I don't know. The blur effect was removed due to being “glitchy”. With workarounds this is possible. I'd rather support since I never seen the blur effect feature before. And it could be useful.
Working on an RPG. Consistently losing followers because of inactivity.

Totally agree. Why hasn’t that been added yet?It was a thing in 0.x, but the option was hidden in 1.x because it was buggy and put a rectangle behind the sprite. However it no longer works.
