This is horrible. MOFFAT. I don't think the Doctor can onnly regenerate twelve times. I think he can regen more.

What the heck, Moffat. There's a reson I like season one and two so much, because he wasn't producing it.

Doctor Who Official Topic [SPOILERS]

Doesn't matter how good he is.

Part of what makes Doctor Who interesting is the constant changing. If a Doctor stays too long it can start to get boring. Matt Smith is starting to be more of the same every single episode. (Constant forced in-jokes take the impact of the original joke away and get stale after the first repetition*,) Also, a lot of times he's just saying random stuff. “I collect funny-insects . . . I'm starting now!” (or however it goes) felt like something 11 would say but didn't feel like a natural conversation. He's become flanderized as some extremely quirky guy. I did love Matt Smith in his first season though. The newest episode was refreshing just because he got to act differently. Tangentially, I really want to see more “dark” Timelord stuff happen. The Timelord Victorious was never used properly because all it amounted to was a ten-minute (albeit great) rant at the end of an episode, when seeing that in action would have been really interesting.

So yeah, Matt Smith can go make his movie with Ryan Gosling and we can get something new for a change.

I'd have liked it if the cyberman took over the Doctor for a bit, honestly.

Also, Clara has been built up as such an enigma, with the multiple deaths and everything, that I don't think I'll ever feel like she's just a proper companion. She'll always be the “special” girl and they'll never truly operate on the same level that all the other companions have because of it.

*A lot of my complaints also fall down to Moffat. Gosh. Direct/write some more one-off episodes while someone else show-runs but get over yourself man.
The problem is that Matt Smith has got typecast by many viewers as ‘some extremely quirky guy’ because BBC wants him to maintain a family friendly image. He's not necessarily the one to blame for this, but I do agree that the Pond days were his best. Also, Moffat's done great things for the show like I mentioned sometime back, but now appears to be monopolising and going a bit overboard with his influence like you say. I don't hate either one for those things though; these are just my opinions.
Plenty of family friendly characters are interesting without being extremely quirky

As far as Matt Smith's Doctor goes it's “triumphant speech”, “angry hushed tone”, and “quirky jolly chat”!

That is opinion. To me, I simply don't see it that way. Like I mentioned before, I don't hate either one; these are just my opinions. Yes, if you feel that way, that's fine too.

That was an amazing episode for revealing! It had very little action, but I still like how they introduced John Hurt at the end. I also like how they showed the Great Intelligence and Clara's many forms too! Don't forget the whole River “Spoilers” thing… (I had to watch it online with no commercials because I'm not at home, so I finished it early.)

Doctor Who Official Topic [SPOILERS]

So I just finished watching the last episode. Since I just recently started watching the series, I'm a little confused. Are they not making any more episodes until November, and John Hurt will be the 12th doctor? And also, did they reveal the Doctor's name in the episode? Everyone was saying that they would reveal the Doctor's name, but I didn't hear him say his name. Did I miss something?

No, they won't be making new episodes for until November although Moffat claims he has filmed a scene with David Tennant and Matt Smith which he will release, provided that no one releases spoilers online.

As for the name of the Doctor, I don't think we should discuss it yet because there are others who wouldn't have watched the episode. I'm downloading The Name of the Doctor right now so I can watch it again. There are some details I want to clarify.

Doctor Who Official Topic [SPOILERS]

I watched The Name of the Doctor again (yes, twice in less than half-a-day) and I must say, I understood a lot more than when first viewing it. I personally think it is very well done. I wouldn't like Matt Smith to prematurely leave and pass the baton onto John Hurt immediately, although this seems a brilliant cliffhanger that sets the stage for the undoubtedly epic 50th anniversary film with David Tennant and Rose Tyler as well!

The 50th will be in 3D! 3D! 3 DDDDDD!
And the new doctor seems to be something like the Valyard, from Trial of a Timelord, in Colin Baker's time.
^ Aparently so.

Alright now get on Netflix (or some other method) and watch the continued version (2005, with Christopher Ecclestone) all the way through in order.

It's nowhere near as good if you don't do it in order.

Some episodes, namely in Christopher Eccleston's series suck, but power through.
