Notification When It’s Your Scratch Anniversary
I suppose the suggestion is self explanatory.
So, what if people got a notification when their anniversary of joining Scratch is soon? It could be fun, and be helpful for people who plan on making projects announcing their scratchaversary (probably spelled wrong), as the notification would let them know when it’s soon.
The notification could be given to you similarly to the “promote to new scratcher” notification. When on their profile, they get a little popup saying it’s their anniversary and saying congratulations on being here for another year, and hope they continue to enjoy Scratch.
Then maybe they could have a little birthday cake shown next to their username to signify that it’s their anniversary.
I don’t know
Is this a good idea?

xD
Anyways, how long ahead would it be for your notification? A week? Three days? Day before? 364 days before?
Edit: wow I did not explain that well.
When does the “Oh look! Your scratchaversary is coming up!” message appear, because you said it is not on the day of

“Follow me plz been on scratch 1 year and only have 34 followers so follow plz!!!!!1!!11!!!!”

It's an example. How are you on Scratch for 35 years and only share two projects?I made a mockup:How do you follow 10k people and only gain 48 followers?

I don't know how I feel about this. It seems like it would create a lot of spam like “It's my Scratchaversary, follow me!!!” as well as “Happy Scratchaversary!!” both of which could be annoying. Also, if you really cared that much about your Scratchaversary, wouldn't you remember it?

1- maybe they’re like Griffpatch, except their projects take even longer to make so they’ve only released two of them but they get updated constantly. But because of Griffpatch’s popularity, this guy goes unnoticed. It's an example. 2- I do agree about your point on how people would spam “follow me it’s my anniversary!” (Heyy that rhymed), but theoretically that could happen with just about anything. Like on someone’s birthday they might yell at everyone saying “it’s my birthday so follow me!” Or if they shared a project and wanted it to get popular. Or maybe they had a project on the front page, they might go up to people and say “hey I’m very famous right now!! If you follow me I’ll follow you back and you’ll be followed by somebody famous!!!”

This is cute. I think it would be nice to receive a message in your notifications telling you about your Scratchaversary (that's how you spell it?), though you can leave it to the person to decide whether or not they'll mention that to the public.
Also for anyone concerned about it being used for “follow begging” - there'll always be people on this site asking for follows no matter what. Scratch's interface is of a similar design to social media websites and children (in most cases) love seeing numbers next to words attributed with fame increase over time. I don't think a broad social issue like that would really be exacerbated by an automated message reminding you that you've been on Scratch for however many years.

I feel like milestones and anniversaries are a good idea, but the notification tab isn't a good place to put them. Some people might be annoyed by irrelevant notifications, and if they contained a lot of stats as you proposed, it could promote using bad tactics to maximize them. I think a cake symbol showing up on your profile page for a day, special ‘project shared’ messages for sharing certain numbers of projects (as well as just the first one), and a one-time congratulation message on your first project to reach 100 views are good ideas. Having a list of milestones for views, love-its, followers etc. is probably not a good idea, as it would create an incentive to maximize them instead of making good projects.

I am on the fence about this. I don’t support this because you could see by your profile how long you’ve been on scratch. I also don’t support this because some people (including me) don’t like random messages. They might not even want to do anything for their scratchiversary. However, I do support this because someone might not realise it is their scratchiversary, and might need a prompt. I am mostly not supporting this idea, but if there is a good reason to add this in to Scratch then I might change my mind. For now, I mostly don’t support this.

I just realized that Congratulations is spelled wrong in that mockup, anyway I don't know which stance I'm on yet, although this is a pretty nice idea, I remembered my scratchiversary myself without any help

I'm kinda bad at spelling long words, or short words, or words I don't really use, but I can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,,, ok back on topic.
What if instead of it being a notification message, it had a cupcake in the top left right of the envelope? (And of course keep the original message count)

But then people would be sad that they can’t eat it.
Or maybe they’d only get the message when they viewed their profile.
Maybe there could be a cupcake symbol next to their joined date and when it’s clicked the happy Scratch anniversary thing shows up.

I think instead of the cupcake next to their username, it should be next to the joined date for other people too. That way it prevents that spam because the person had to care enough to go to your profile beforehand.

Support! I would really like this. Though I don't think there should be a cake by their name.
