In Scratch 3.0 I feel the sprites tab is a bit too claustrophobic for my liking.



The benefit of this sprites layout is that the sprite property tab isn't hidden behind a popup and there's more you can do to adjust sprites without having to use blocks, but the sprites area itself feels quite cramped. It can only show the entirety of 5 sprites at a time and the sprite to the right gets partially obscured by the create sprite button, often leading me to click on it by mistake instead of the sprite, which makes me often lower the page zoom just so I can get a better view of the sprites and not misclick the create sprite button.



For comparison Scratch 2 can display the entirety of 10 sprites at a time and places the create sprites button outside of the sprites area. Scratch 2 uses a popup menu for adjusting things like the names and directions of sprites which saves the top bar some space allowing more area to show the sprites at the cost of you needing to click more to access sprite properties.

I feel like Scratch 3.0's design should be changed to allow for more space in the sprites tab so I don't have to resort to zooming the page out to get a better look at all the sprites, and possibly re-position the create sprites button somewhere outside the sprites area to reduce the chance of people accidentally clicking it when they want to access a sprite. I'm not sure what the optimal solution is to fix this as both 2.0 and 3.0 have their flaws, what do you guys think?

I support this, as sometimes (if I, for some reason, find myself using the 3.0 editor instead of 2.0_offline) when I click a sprite it hides behind the stupid add sprite button.

i am curently rebiulding the scratch beta from the ground up
it is being made as of Dec 13 2025 this will be downloaded similar to the old scratch file
