No. Scratch is a online community where everything can be remixed and shared. Money is not the point of scratch. Then use Stencyl instead

No support. Though I'm always into making more money (who isn't?), that really isn't the purpose of Scratch. I feel that Scratch is really a place where children (or anyone) can begin learning how to code. What's so amazing about it, is that it doesn't matter who is behind each account - everyone has equal opportunity to imagine and create as they wish! I think adding in a feature that allows users to make money on Scratch would begin discrimanation against those with a lower economic status. Also, the entirety of the privacy system put in place would have to be completely redone.

No support.

How exactly would you make money? Who gives you the money? It can't be the Scratch Team because they want to use their money to improve the Scratch website and editor. It can't be the project viewers, because that is rejected:

1.4 Digital currency or money blocks
The problem with money blocks is that many users on the website are young and do not quite know how money works (and most do not even have a credit card account). Users could make projects which require others to pay a large amount of money in order to play the project. Overall, it adds further complexity to the website, and would limit users' access, without any clear benefit towards the educational value.

Maybe they could make money like, if they are 18 or over, they could buy games or something because kids cant do it? Scratch could get 70% and we get 30. I don't know who'd be paying though.

So if you're 18 or older, then you have to pay to view certain Scratch projects? Does that include the Scratch Team?

I don't really like that either way, even if the Scratch Team gets exceptions. I could just make an account that is 1 year old and get around it.

It also doesn't quite explain how users get money. Who is paying them?

*buys game*
*owner makes game empty*
*me sad*

No support, I see that you and many others may want to make money, but there are better ways to make it, Unreal Engine has a type of block coding, and now also Unity does… Also this is kind of rejected

What about publishing scratch games? Like on different websites. Such as Itch.io?

That could work. I think there's ways to do it, but I'm not sure how. Regardless, the transactions being made could exist on other websites, but do not belong on the Scratch website.

You could give credit to scratch? But then again… I don't think there's a way to export your files, So they can't really be played anyway. But Some websites don't need this.

I get that getting money from scratch is insanely difficult or impossible. How about Players being able to donate to the creator before playing a game? Like, a $5 Max?

That could work out better, what would they use to pay? Surely not a credit/debit card.

Hmm… Your right. What if scratch had a gift card?

I don't think that would work well because then people would keep spamming others to donate money for their game. This is really harmful for the Scratch community.

In addition, young kids don't really have a concept of money. Older users might, and would likely know better than to send $5 to some random person over the Internet. I know I would not be willing to donate actual money to people I don't even know.

Most users are children and do not have access to a credit card/a bank account (from a kid myself). Also, Griffpatch would probably be a millionaire with:
Over 20,000,000 views (total)
Over 200,000 loves and favourites
Almost 100,000 followers
Probably over 1,000 remixes OF HIS PROJECTS

I read consumerism as communism xD

But yeah I can now say that I don't support this, as others have stated it's not for money, but education.

Scratch is non-profit, so it would never happen.
