Hey, I'm working on making a (profile) website, but I'm kind of in a slump. I'm out of design ideas.

Here's what I think I'm going to do for the nav bar.

Also, here's my original design, but it seems a bit content-light (also looks horrific on mobile).

Does anybody have ideas (mockups, even), of what it should look like?

Hi! Remember flint1099? This is his new account! Anyways, it appears I found yet another person with enough patience to learn a coding language (your original idea looks like javascript or CSS). So, I like your original idea. Perhaps, you could like, add a list of what programming languages you know. Or maybe, you could set up a small business where you code for people. Then you gain popularity and moolah, buy an office building and find new employees, then grow up to live forever as the new Bill Gates. Your death would be at one of Bill's dinner parties. He will poison you of jealousy. Bill Gates would be caught and then poisoned also. Actually, that's a bad idea. Don't listen to me.

Though I do like the idea of coding for people for $$$. Though I don't think I'll do that yet. First I need to work on my site design.

I have a really good book that I checked out from the library which has a bunch of different style/design/color ideas, as well as many screenshots of websites as examples.

So, you're original idea says you like making things. How about you make the official “do you like making things, too?” personality quiz which obviously points out if you like making things, if you don't, or if you're a Capricorn (the half ram half mermaid thing, not the zodiac sign) who just ate a duck which just ate a hammerhead shark from the Netherlands who just ate a dung beetle that just ate a French Canadian Parrot that just ate a pickle hugging an octopus that was just eating the poisoned body of a boy who was murdered by Bill Gates at his dinner party because Bill was jealous of this “Josh” guy.
I'm only joking about the being a Capricorn thing, you should make the personality quiz. Also, besides Scratch, JavaScript, and HTML, what else do you know?

Well, I know CSS, obviously. I also know a small bit of python.
I'm not sure about the personality quiz. I'll have to think it over.

Okay, I might not go with hexagons after all. I can't make them change color on hover/turn them into links. I don't really want to use background images. If anybody can help, that'd be great!

The seconds are “Segoe UI” (Hi, I'm Josh), “Segoe UI Bold” (NEWS), “Segoe UI Light” (Today, I am sad to report…) and “Segoe UI Semibold” (23rd February 2014). This is the Windows font, which has risen to fame in the form of “Segoe WP”, a slightly modified version which is used for Metro. It's my favourite font - I try to use it for everything. If only there was a serif version for formal stuff…

Thanks! That's quite a few fonts. I really like the Segoe UI. I'll probably use that.

I only know the basics of HTML, so I didn't really know that.
