READ THIS before you ask, "My friend was banned, what do I do"
I've noticed the following question a lot in Questions About Scratch:
Well, the truth is, you're not supposed to talk about bans, alerts, or other such private matters in forums It can potentially cause gossip, and most often, Scratchers don't know the whole story behind the Scratch Team's action.
Instead, the user in question is supposed to use Contact Us or send an email to appeals@scratch.mit.edu to sort out matters privately with the Scratch Team.

The friend can ask the person who got banned to contact appeals@scratch.mit.edu rather than Contact Us, as the message is sent to a different email address of the ST, which could mean a faster reply
