auto save on offline editor
This isn't how the offline editor works. It would have to bring up the prompt where you go into your files and save it every time it autosaved. Otherwise, where would the autosaves be stored?

I don't feel like that's how the Offline Editor is supposed to work. Most offline making-thing programs have you save manually, and I think that works just fine.

That's just the editor's problem, you might want to make a new suggestion for this. It needs autosave because it crashed on me and i lost a whole lot of progress

I don't know, would autosave even work? It works online, but I don't know about offline.

But you have to consider how this would be implemented. You would have to set an auto save timer for the Offline Editor, and then give a mechanic that opens up your destination selection It needs autosave because it crashed on me and i lost a whole lot of progressONLY ONCE and manages to remember that location so the next time it saves, it save in the location it chose.
autosave would fix that
This is just more work for a simple little feature.
And if it crashes, why don't you save it to a file every so often? That's kind of like having auto save!

Well, you can just click Save and it'll remember where its destination is. I just don't know if making it automatically save to that destination will actually work offline. But you have to consider how this would be implemented. No Support. This is because Offline Editor doesn't need an account, an account is used to store data and information to yourself, and it can't do that. Besides, if you have no account, nothing will save. It will be very complicated to save information without an account. That isn't how the Offline Editor works.

I don't see why people are saying this is impossible; on the online editor, when the project saves it's saving the project to a location on the Scratch servers, similar to how the offline editor saves the project to a location locally on your computer (assuming it's already saved). All the ST has to do is copy and paste the same autosave timer the online editor has into the offline editor and there shouldn't be any problems at all, except for the problems autosave has already

I support this suggestion. Autosave would prevent people from losing progress by forgetting to save, among other errors. Autosave might have only occur after a manual save has been performed, since otherwise vital information about how to save the file is missing (i.e. filename and location), but that's good enough for most purposes.
Accounts are only necessary to save information online because otherwise the server wouldn't be able to tie the data back to the person who added it. Autosave is basically an automatic press of the save button every so often, it wouldn't be significantly more complicated than the save button already is.

Eehh..?
I guess I'll give neutral support, but I've never used the offline editor before, so..
The reason why I give neutral support is as said earlier, it would have a little of ambiguity considering it has no account attached to it.

it isn't impossible. Microsoft Word has autosave even if your offline. it just takes a manual save first then it always saves ontop of that file.

Same Hammer Map Editor, allows you to set a destination to send autosaves (just project name with numbered autosaves up to set limit) and then a set limit of time between saves. Default to 3 saves and 15 minutes should be good. it isn't impossible. Microsoft Word has autosave even if your offline. it just takes a manual save first then it always saves ontop of that file.

Yeah but it crashes and makes you lose all your progress, also wouldn't it just save to the project file you would make? No Support.
