Ooooooo Ender's Game was wonderful. As soon as it went on sale that the local library's used book sale, I got it cos I needed that in my collection. I read that, Speaker for the Dead and then I gave Xenocide a shot, but I was rather young at the time so it had a bit too much adult material for me.
Thinking of recommendations, around your age I LOVED the My Teacher is an Alien series. It sounds like it's a silly series but good grief looking back it was not only a rather serious sci-fi book, but it takes a good look at issues to world faces. Definitely worth a read, I think.

Yeah, I'm still reading Children of the Mind but the ones after Enders Game don't have action but I still have to read them… Ooooooo Ender's Game was wonderful. Ender's Game was a great book. The sequels were… not as good but still decent. A lot more philosophical than the first one (although the first one was pretty philosophical too).
Ranger's Apprentice was my favourite book until very recently. That top spot has now gone to the Stormlight Archives with second place going to Mistborn and Ranger's Apprentice being pushed down to third. Note, though, that the Stormlight Archives have quite a lot of violence, as does Mistborn so it might be better not to read it until you're older or to ask your parents about it first.

“Yipee, I did it!” the man said with glee,
“I've solved that darned riddle, I've solved it, you see!”
The sphinx simply smiled and shook her strange head,
“I'm afraid you're wrong, and therefore you're dead.”

I agree with the Enders Game one, and I like that you like the Rangers Apprentice but now I am obliged too read the Stormlight Archives and Mistborn to see if they take first place… Thanks! 2. A Series of Unfortunate Events (book #12 is especially good)
3. The Expeditioners (this series is sooo good. It does have some mild swearing, so be careful)
4. The Mysterious Benedict Society (book #1 is the best, the rest are okay)
5. The Scarlet Pimpernel (historical fiction, ftw)
6. Cry, the Beloved Country (beautifully written, does deal with some slightly more mature topics)
